I have been researching a whole list of foods that are supposed to have links to various other phenomena like chakras, auras, the pineal gland, etc. I've researched things like cilantro, chlorella, tamarind, etc. I just happened to be learning about garlic, and this just happened to be a convenient digression in my exploration. Like I pointed out elsewhere, I am not a fan of diets, plans, steps and regimens. I'm like an alley cat. I learn enough to move to the next step, just eager to reach the conclusion, whatever it may be. I honed in on what might be the cause of the hair issue, as I learned more about sulfur in the body, but I also learned about microbes on the scalp. I should also point out that along with the hair feed I was ingesting stupid amounts of garlic, fresh garlic. Of topic was the chemical compound allicin, and its many potential uses in the body. In short, this was my Great Garlic Experiment, with me as the primary guinea pig. :) If anyone wants to add any experiences, would enjoy keeping the conversation going. I ran across the blog of a family that I guess, lives on a garlic farm, or that they just farm garlic. She compares her use of garlic to the dad on My Big Fat Greek Wedding's use of Windex for a cure-all. She was kind of my inspiration to take 'garlic days' - days on which I would consume and rub as much garlic on my body as possible. :) -N- Reclaim the Present from Apathy and Despair Care without Hope, Hope without Care |

A lot of the acids that people use for chemical peels on their skin to stop wrinkles works very well, I like glycolic acid a lot, people have had amazing results with that. Why is this so, not sure. I think it probably has to do something with hair being covered with dead skin or something, and you need that acid or pepper or garlic or something that burns to clear up that dead skin so the hair can breath again. Just a guess. |

I like the smell of my shampoo and conditioner but not in my face 24 hours a day. A lot of places online recommended a mix of apple cider vinegar and water for a conditioner. Mix it with some baking soda to almost a paste consistency for a shampoo. I didn't try it but a lot of people resorted positive results. I started using macadamia but oil to Moisturize my beard. Within two days I could tell a huge difference. Much softer and could shape it with once over with my brush. I run a little through my hair. It gives a lot of shine and helps keep everything where I want it without looking like it has anything in it. Plus it's still soft like hair instead of crunch like gel or fiber. |

I use baking soda and water, then vinegar to condition. Never tried garlic. But for baking soda just rub the water/soda mix into ur scalp for a minute then rinse. Then for the vinegar, just run it through your hair, try not to let it touch your scalp tho. So if u have short hair, dont bother with the vinegar . I shower at least once every two days, usually daily tho and only have to use my baking soda and vinegar like once a week. My hair just doesn't get greasy anymore, all it needs is a rinse. The soda/vinegar makes my hair really soft and healthy looking tho :) |

The garlic I would rub into my scalp then wrap my head in a do-rag and go to sleep. The lemon juice I pour a bit at a time onto my scalp, then brush it in using a hairbrush. Then I let it sit for a few minutes, until the sting has started to subside, like I mentioned, lemon juice is very potent. At this point, there are two chief dangers: lemon juice is greasy/oily, which is alwayts a bad thing to have in the shower. Furthermore, it stings, bad if it gets into your eyes. I'm sitting there with lemon water streaming into my eyes and standing in lemon-y water. Provided you mitigate these two steps, the lemon juice should rinse completely out of your hair and not leave any stickiness. If it's sticky, shove your head back under the shower and rinse some more. :) -N- Reclaim the Present from Apathy and Despair Care without Hope, Hope without Care |

Something is working though as I have new growth. Oh, I'm also using Biotin drops directly on the spots. I'm open for suggestions! |
