They are not silver either as far as i am aware. Probably one of the few silver coloured war/prewar coins from west that isnt actually silver. Most of the UK, US, Canadia, Australian, Swedish silver coloured coins from WW2 and before contained actual silver. |

Because everyone saved them, value is low. Your other pennies have counterstamps on them. They are not really too valuable either unfortunately. Many of these were made as gimmicks to sell above face value. I have a 1974 penny counterstamped with JFKs head and they used to sell these attached to a piece of paper. Front of the penny looks old, the back with paper on it still is brilliant red under the paper. put rock in geyser. |

And yes lincoln is on it Quoting: Oneness4321=01/10 I'm sorry to say its not worth anything, they are not particularly rare, but if it was a proof coin, or a well looked after collectors coin it would have been worth something. They are quite common in circulated condition. Might be worth a dollar or something. Dont be too sad though, People find Roman coins over here all the time and think they are worth hundreds or thousands and they are often worth about 5 dollars. :( |

Quoting: Space Janitor Yeah, i dont know much about US coins, but i allways look out for silver coloured coins that predate the 70's as a lot of them globally contained silver. By the 60's most of them globally were only 40%ers but once you start looking at old pre WW2 coins you can often find 90% and sterling silver coins from countries. This one op found is basically the exception to the rule, one of the few western coins from that era that is basically complete junk and is made of steel, due to the copper use in ww2. |

Now, a 1943 Copper penny in the worst condition is at least 50K, in great shape, perhaps millions. One sold for over a million about 10 years ago. We all breathe the same air. .-.. --- ...- . / .- .-.. .-.. |
