User ID: 26369965 United States 01/01/2014 04:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Adoption would give your child opportunities you can only dream of now: Freedom from public schools and exposure to the hideous welfare system. A mature, stable married couple who are wholehearted committed to being parents. The welfare system grinds down the will and destroys the soul of all involved. Public schools destroy the soul. Through over a decade as a social worker I know exactly what it does to people. Adoption, on the other hand, rises above. It lifts the souls of all involved. The child is freed from the meatgrinder of welfare involvement. The child can go to good schools, and has opportunities in life. You and your girlfriend can continue in the natural course of youth, that is making your way upwards. You and she can plan productive futures and make your way towards them while enjoying your youth. Please look into, discuss, and consider adopting the child out into a stable family that is ready to provide for the child. There are countless options, including open adoption where you are the adoptive parents remain in contact, and the child grows up knowing that he or she was adopted out through love and hope, with the child's best interest at heart. Isn't the fact that I'm coming on here asking what's out there proof enough that I'm not some welfare junkie? That is why the system is there for those who need some help. After all, the money's just gonna go to buy some other country arms to help towards our intended demise. Happy New Year! Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. I have had wildass friends that had kids and totally changed their lives Quoting: Founders Fan Yes. My 21 year old step daughter was on her way to killing herself (via partying and drugs). During one of those events, she managed to get herself pregnant. Decided to have the child. We had kicked her out of the house during that time, but she has now made a complete 180, put herself in college, has a 4.0 gpa, and she has moved back in with us. I will say that nothing we did to reverse her idiocy worked (and we did a lot), but that wonderful little boy....completely transformed her outlook on life, and we wouldn't trade him for the world. Within the surreal depths of "reality" lies the truth. |

If you are under 20, consider adoption! 31 and she is 29. Not getting any younger. Wow well you are both old enough to care for a child. Your job from now on is to create a secure environment for your child. Educate your child, beyond what the public fool system offers, and help the child to learn and create a life of their own that will make s/he happy. So get going. You have 9months to get your act together. Good luck and many blessing of joy to you, your girl and your new baby |

So can all the Youths on da Projects. Baby Daddy becomes obsolete. Baby can grow up in da Projects and learn to Count to Potato in da Public Schools. And grow up to make the same mistakes. Or the kid could have decent shot at life by way of adoption. Former social worker here, seen it thousands of times Absolutely ZERO magic goes on with unplanned welfare pregnancy. Lots of misery and wasted opportunity, that and not much else Friend's unplanned grandson. "It'll be FUN!" says she. "I was turned down for disability by the state for my fibromyalgia, so now we can get the rent and WIC and free diapers and everything. We have our sh*t together- after all we have 3 cats and a BIG dog in that tiny apartment and my boyfriend is so accomodating taking care of all the animals because - you know I can't walk him due to my fibromyalgia" Baby born with state medical and thank god he is healthy and beautiful - she quit smoking and anti-depressants and fibromyalgia meds during pregnancy; until 3 hours after baby born - then outside the hospital puffing it up with cigarette smoke. Bored, lonely, taking care of kid good but like he was a doll (she is twenty something but ..). So, when she can't afford the "stuff" she wants and the kid too - he asks her to get a job to help out. He works all the hours he can get. Comes home and a few beers later passes out - rinse, repeat. FIRST job she snags calls for her to be OUT OF TOWN a wwwwwwwwweeek at a time. He says ok, the money is good. She LOVES her new job. Makes money. Stays in a hotel. Fixes herself up and loses weight and puts her tongue ring back in. And BAM. Leaves him with the 15 month old kid. He has sense enough to send the cats and dogs with her. Oh, darn section 8 doesn't take my pets. BUT my MOM will - she has an apartment! And WIC will pay for it. So, she sees the kid when she is in town - and her MOM babysits during the day while he is at work. And his MOM takes him other days or weekends when he also works. And the babysitter takes him the rest of the time when the MOMs are working or sick. The kid has everything, but a functioning family. Of course, she is from the wrong side of town and told me she's doing the best she can - most of her friends from high school are in jail. Tattooed and nuts and bolts in her eyebrow, tongue, etc. She doesn't do drugs - (just hooked on prescription pain relievers and antidepressants). So - this kid gets passed around like a hot potato and the Dad is stepping up BIG time and has agreed to have no life. But he will burn out. He makes $19,000yr as a cook and has every night and weekend unless they are "nice" to him. His parents bought his car and help a couple hundred now and then. Support system running thin. They are not healthy and not working enough to keep it up. Grandparents have no retirement or back-up either. They thought their kids would help. Opposite is true. And she will have another kid with her NEW boyfriend (living at MOMs apartment rent free with all the cats and dogs and the kid-when she's in town). Yep - you got some thinkin' to do. This kid isn't even two yet. "What are you helping with all this helping?" Buddhist saying |

User ID: 19876247 United States 01/03/2014 09:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wow, let me tell you, you have a rough road ahead of you. I am a teacher and I swear, I can't wait to get rid of those kids at 3 pm. It can be really annoying. Good luck, hang in there and don't have any more. One is more than enough!!! You might be in the wrong profession. My son's GF is one of the most dedicated, professional caring and talented teachers out there. We took her out for lunch the last week of school. She cried. I asked what is the worst thing wrong with the kids. She said "Most of them just need DIFFERENT PARENTS!" This year, I asked what was the heartache about that led her to antidepressants. She said "One of my 12 year old students was taken out of school - because her FATHER was prostituting her out". I was stunned, of course. "She's back in class but just sits and rips stuff up". "MATH is not their first priority. I have to teach them Math and grade them on math - but they have much more important problems than learning Math". And Commoncore testing will probably get her fired because working in a TEACH AMERICA program means "disadvantaged" beyond most people's imagination. I started asking teacher friends. MOST of them are on antidepressants. "What are you helping with all this helping?" Buddhist saying |

Don't worry so much about the money aspect; the kiddo will happen regardless. Having a child is the most awesome, life changing event. Suddenly, it's not just about the two of you. It's about this new being that is completely dependent on you to teach nurture and grow. Focus changes and the change is so much better that I ever expected. (I hope the same for you!) You will see!! As for you GF, you will find her even more sexy and desirable during this time. You will need to, and most gladly, I suspect, cater to her. She may be moody or tired, but she will have a glow about her unlike any other. Enjoy this time. When you bring a child into this world, your world will change and it is wonderful! Congrats! Quoting: CharlieMurphy It's not confirmed yet, we are going to take a test tomorrow but she is pretty late and both of us have a feeling she is. How it happened is a moot point so please don't ask. Neither of us like the idea of abortion and I can't help but feel that it would destroy our relationship. What I need help with is some ideas on where to start looking for assistance. What kinds of assistance are available. Any and all ideas are welcome. I don't ask for a lot from my GLP family, and most who know me will know I often offer advice when I was more active. I had my computer break a few months back and have pretty much just stuck to lurking around on my phone. For reference to assistance available we live in lake county Illinois. I have to go somewhere pretty soon here so I might not be here right away to answer any follow ups. Will be back and bumping this later. I really need help here guys, don't even know where to start looking. Also taking green karma so I can get a member upgrade to use the email features. Thank you GLP! **UPDATE** confirmed today, gotta start working out the details now! Welcome to the Government's Tit. Settle in and Milk it for all you can.
