It's hard to watch. :( Now this just boils my blood. I am a therapist, and I go to homes for therapy so I know the procedural safeguards and what not. However, this mom should not have been leaving him alone with the therapist. Therapy in the home is to help the child in their everyday environment, so mom/dad should always be there. I post this to encourage you parents to ALWAYS be in the room. It's not only good for the therapy session, but you can never trust someone in your home like this. The sad thing is he was autistic and could not communicate. So how was he supposed to tell his parents? So sad. It really breaks my heart, but I'm praying he gets what he deserves. I quickly found out there were many sadistic and controlling people in those fields. Years later, working as a paramedic, I found that EMS and nursing also attract an inordinate amount of people with serious mental health issues. Sadistic people search out professions where they have control over vulnerable people and their job is cover because it comes with an automatic aura of caring and compassion. M. Scott Peck said easily 10% of doctors were bona fide sadists. Strangely, I've found doctors to be far more truly caring than members of related fields. I'd rate social services and "counselors" to be the most demented. |

Would make sense if the parents weren't home and just let the recorder there run and would have seen it afterwards, assuming there was just something "slightly wrong" with the sessions.. The only reason I can think of is that they wanted to "make sure" what was happening and not "over react" to some miss identified action.. but.. to me the very first one they showed would have been a red light and I would have run to the kids aid immediately and kicked that guy out of the house, no questions asked at that point. After each day my hope for the humankind just gets thinner and there is hardly anything left of it nowadays. |

There are so many resources out there, Temple Grandin and so many others. I just made the decision that I know my son best and understood that autism presents differently in every person but there are common threads that prevail. It's a matter of understanding how it is expressed in your particular child. How in the world would an 'expert" know my child better than I? The best advice I ever read on the subject was to just imagine they were dropped off here from another planet with no idea of our customs or social norms and proceed from there. Never assume they understand and are being bad, you have to teach them EVERYTHING. BTW- I much prefer the way his mind works in comparison to the supposedly normal people out there. lol |

Had an occurence where a 28 yr old chiropractor molested me (age 60) in an attempt to scam me for $$ by trying to create a fake emotional bond. He picked the wrong person because I reported him to his bosses and they fired him. But he and his wife just opened up their own shop and I'm sure there will be more victims. So hard to prove and bring justice to end it. Karma will get him. |
