Make a call to stop the TPP

Giant multinational corporations want Congress to pass fast-track trade authority, which would allow the Obama administration to ram through the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a secret “trade” deal that has been negotiated in secret and is full of terrible and deeply unpopular provisions.

Make a call today to oppose fast track and help stop the TPP.

202-225-5006 Rep. Danny Davis -- A possible Script:

"Hello, my name is _________, and I’m a constituent calling from _______.

I’m calling to thank Rep. Davis for sending a letter to President Obama late last year opposing fast-track trade authority and the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

But now that a fast-track bill has been introduced with no Democratic co-sponsors in the House, Democratic unity in this fight is more important than ever. So in the face of pressure from the White House, I urge Rep. Davis to stay strong.

Can I count on Rep. Davis to vote against fast-track trade authority when it comes up for a vote? "

Re: TPP will allow foreign countries to override U.S. SOVEREIGN LAWS
Read this:

TPP will replace the ACLU, the AFL-CIO, US EPA, the USDA and US Food and Drug administration with a three-lawyer tribunal ruling 40% of Earth's inhabitants. No room for corruption, there, either. 19 rounds of talks are over - Obama signing is guaranteed. Japan is hedging, they want all they can get before signing.

The US Trade Deficit has alreay hit astronomically high numbers and this TPP agreement will put America into even more foreign debt while destroying American people’s rights, jobs and overall well-being. Trade deficit will exceed one-trillion dollars in the first 1-2 years of TPP. The carrot is the same carrot promised under NAFTA – trickle down economics. The reality is that the Bill of Rights for 40% of the planet is being replaced by a multinational corporation ‘Bill of Rights’… [link to saynotocorporateamerica.blogspot.com]

Stopping our governments from doing any more damage with corporate rights pacts like the TPP needs to be a priority of the peoples of North America. We must demand an alternative, more equitable and sustainable global trade regime. Trade and investment deals must respect and promote fundamental environmental rights, indigenous sovereignty, labor rights, including equal rights for migrant workers and people of color.

Communities and local governments need to be able to actively create high-wage, high-benefit jobs in ways that do not undermine the well-being of our sisters and brothers globally.
