Yikes! ~ 2 Women Shot & Killed At Grocery Store In INDIANA Last Night - Shooter Dead

The store was open at the time of the shooting, but workers told investigators that it wasn't very busy at the time.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Trent Smith said the gunman first shot a 20-year-old female employee as she was stocking shelves at the store.

The suspect then exchanged words with another employee. Smith said the shooter fired at the other employee as she was running away, but his shot did not hit her.

Then, about 10 to 12 aisles away, the gunman fatally shot a 44-year-old female shopper.

The identities of the victims haven't been released.

Smith said the gunman was pointing his gun at the kneeling store manager when two Elkhart officers shot him.

The gunman, 22-year-old Shawn Walter Bair, was armed with a .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun and a large hunting knife, police said.
