Second outbreak of Norovirus on Cruise Ship, is the disease coming from the water?
I find it highly unusual that a second outbreak of norovirus has occurred so quickly in conjunction with the first outbreak. Something is going on in the Caribbean, how is this disease getting on these ships and why aren't there major outbreaks of it in the port cities?

I have a hypothesis, and it has to do with the me tell you prophecy. We all remember the BP gulf disaster, but do you remember that they used artificial bacteria to help in the cleanup? Is this bacteria mutating and making people sick now? Remember in me tell you that it said no one would use oil after 15th may because of a sickness. Could this come true because of this bacteria, especially if it's infecting people now?

It does make folks wonder. Something has to be going on if they now have 2 out breaks of this stuff.

Could it be possible that the CDC is labeling it norovirus because they don't want the public to know what's going on with these outbreaks?

It's possible I guess, but I doubt it's too likely. My brother works on cruise ships and he says Norovirus and food poisoning aren't rare.

Sickness is coming from the water and not the oil from your theory, but..

there are numerous off-shore platforms, if these were lost due to some sea born sickness then that could possibly lead to the outcome you are looking for.

Not to mention how much oil is transported by sea.

Food poisoning and illness are pretty common on cruise ships. I don't think we've seen events of this kind of scale and magnitude before though. Something is going on, my hypothesis is kind of unlikely but interesting. Maybe there's a new strain of Norovirus that is even more virulent than before?

That was my theory when I connected it to that prophecy. The me tell you thing isn't very descriptive in how these things play out, so I figured maybe it could be something to ponder and discuss.
