They have been drying up the farm land for at least 5 years out here, probible longer. Take the drive from Fresno west to Pismo beach and look at all the empty, unplanted farmland. 10s of Thousands of acres dry to the bone. This didnt happen overnight.

They are forcing people from the rural areas into the jammed up cities just like the agenda says.

Maybe these fish are the kind Jesus used, they will be able to feed 5000 and more.

So the farmers take the water and do what with it?

They grow food.

So who eats the food?

Back into the soil, the rivers, the sea.

The average California home uses 360 gallons of water a day. You have got to be kidding me! 360 gallons a day? In some areas, such as Sacramento, the average per person rate is 261 gallons! No wonder you are running low on water out there. WTH???

The article below shows where the water is being used in California. Now, I think if you start doing the math, you will find that if you took every drop of the 300 billion gallons of water (while killing the environment it feeds), you would only prolong the farming issue by a short while. The issue is conservation and lack of rain. If you don't get rain (a lot of rain) the farmers are going under anyway.

All you greedy Californians just don't know how to do without and you don't care what and who you hurt to get what you want, either. You need to be a little less worried about the farming and a little more worried about where your next glass of Kool Aid is coming from.

As I mentioned earlier, my husband and I have been in agriculture most of our lives. We've been through floods, we've been through tornadoes. We've had hail wipe us out several times. You farmers out there in the land of plenty aren't used to adversity and think everything should be easy and fall into place. You just don't realize that this is a risk you take with farming. Expecting everyone else to help you out isn't going to happen and killing off rivers, streams, and wetlands (and all the animals which depend on them) just to cover your asses so you can make more money isn't going to happen either.

California isn't the only place our food comes from, you know, even though it will be felt greatly at the store by everyone. But the point is, we aren't going to starve.

I will explain again, this was an issue in 2009, BUT recently the republicans wanted to let the farmers use this water and the dems said no.

So the story as it relates to the drought is new.

Perhaps my viewpoint of California farmers is somewhat skewed. The ones I personally know don't even do half their work - they hire Mexicans. I know that the smaller farmers work their axxes off just like farmers in other parts of the country do. But overall, you have to admit mother nature's fury hasn't hit you in California as hard over the past few decades as farmers in other areas of the country.
