Well I dont know how these two ads are tied But this morning I found out that the producer of 24 is called Studio Ghibli.

The timing is with the super bowl and the olympics. Most people, me included, love the idea of the underdog. My kids favorite movie is Real Steal, which is basically a rip off of the "Rocky" meme. I like the movie too.

I think it is just a play on those feelings, with this small challenger coming from nowhere to shake up the "big boys" as it were. Patience, perseverance, etc., is rewarded in the end. Anyway, that's how I saw it.

Anyone think the 'sleeping giant' could be Yellowstone Super Volcano? "They walked the earth, have always been here." These giants have always been here, "In the alleyways, in the school yards." Yellowstone does span quite a large area underground, probably in many alleyways and school yards.

So maybe it's a double meaning. usa=giant so does Yellowstone. Yellowstone has been acting up lately.

I tend to agree with this post and the others you wrote. However- in this economy and with the world events at present time ( including stock markets) I have to wonder if this has other implications as the OP and some of the folks on here are eluding to. I will leave the door open on this as I do feel this to be an ominous marketing strategy - especially during these times...

I agree. All I see are references to giants (the competition), and how the Ghigli is coming out of the shadows to strike, prolly in reference to a midnight launch.

USA must be extremely happy they sold full page ads with minimal images and text for huundreds of thousands of dollars.

I thought the SUPERTARDS would have given it a fuckin rest after their epic fail on Sunday.

When I saw this ad live my jaw dropped. It was one of the most obvious communications from the TPTB I've ever seen. As usual, no specifics regarding dates or locations are revealed. But it was ominous. And it was meant to be ominous. And...it was meant to communicate an IMMINENT threat.
