Observing the darkness

People are often afraid to look at what is broken in their lives and our world because they think that by observing it they will bring more of it into their lives.
The contrary is true, we can not hide our eyes from the darkness within us and in the world... oblivious to the truth... and change the negative patterns at the same time.
We must not bury our head in the sand and pretend we don't see, we must look directly at the darkness without fear and shine the light of our love on it so it will flee.
Christ did not turn away from the darkness but transformed it with the light of His love healing the ones that others refused to look upon.
We do this too.
