We definitely don't have the grit our forefathers did.

That is because they had to fight hard and struggle long to improve their lots in life, we had it far too easy. It is a clear case of the Silver Spoon Effect. However, before they are through with us I feel certain that we will have ample opportunity to show what we are made of. Quit Ye Like Men!

You're right, we all know what's coming as NOTHING from '08 was ever corrected - money was printed to cover up the mess and to make sure Obumbler was able to get through his 8 years unscathed.

For those who think the fed is going to ride to the recue again this time, they might want to rethink that premise. In '08, the fed's balance sheet was $8 billion; at this point it is $4.5 TRILLION. What are they going to do, lower interest rates???

The other thing is that Trump has inserted the fed into this campaign as a legitimate issue. What they have done over the last 8 years has just been blowing asset bubbles with printed money. They have encouraged malinvestment and have destroyed anything resembling price discovery in the capital markets. They have allowed corporation to borrow money at ZERO interest in order to repurchase their own shares and pay dividends in order to keep their stock price inflated - it has nothing to do with organic growth in the economy.

If the fed makes a move to bail out European banks, it confirms everything Trump has said about them and puts the TBTB - both dems and reps- in awkward position. I contend that if the fed does make a move, Trump will win in November. There is a lot of anger still out there over the TBTF banks and the money they were given in '08 - with nobody going to jail. People, pension funds and insurance companies have been hurt badly by the fed's ZIRP policy.
