Re: The Grand Finale Pt. III: Janet Does Davos (latest update p. 195)
This may be a very dumb question but I'll ask it anyway.

What if certain nations decide they don't like the plan? For example Iran, China, and Russia. If this controlled demolition isn't what they want would they expedite the process? We all know China is hording gold and that tensions between Iran and TPTB are very high. Not saying I want this in the least but I am curious if its even on the table. There are so many different theories as to what will happen over the next year and currency war via dumping the dollar seems to be a popular one.

Refresh my memory, what stage are we at?
 Quoting: MaxMad

The way I grouped it we are just beginning stage 2...
 Quoting: Saddletramp

Thanks.... And they can "speed" things up or "Kick the can" as they want... But you're thinking possibly Q3 or Q4 this year to be a stage 5? Interesting... Thanks
 Quoting: MaxMad

I would say at present velocity of bad economic news coming in, and the present rate of taper and monetary contraction, late Q3-Q4 for it to come to a head...

Then their currencies will be destroyed...no fiat will survive this in the end.

Why in the world are so many Russians over in the US now? I have noticed many, many Russians of all ages in this town. Why?
 Quoting: Ms. Superduper

They tend to all migrate to certain area's, I notice when I'm in Key West there are a lot of Yugoslavians down there...

Other than that I can't really speculate.

Are they young men for the most part, or just a general cross section of Russians?
 Quoting: Saddletramp

A pretty young girl (20 or so) down the street who works at the gas station owned by muslims.

A couple, middle aged, I ran into at the drug store. I was behind the man who was standing still and I kept saying excuse me and he didn't move. Finally his wife or whoever prompted him. No speaky English.

Then there was the cop who came out and wrote a report for the neighbor's breakin' last year. He did not say Russia when I asked him where he was from, but it was close by Russia - can't 'member'. heh

Just wondering because people rave about how great Russia is now and wondered why they would want to come over to America in the current state.

This town is kind of a melting pot though.

Anyhow.
 Quoting: Ms. Superduper

If it was just groups of military age men I would be more concerned. There has been significant Eastern European and Russian immigration since the USSR folded it's tent...

Pretty amazing they would admit this stuff...

Might be even closer to an economic reset than I thought...

What are your feelings on martial law due to this scenario?

I can't shake the feeling that Obama can't wait to use the upcoming crisis to implement martial law, suspend term limits amid the chaos ( elections won't be possible amongst the chaos ) and America will become a totally different entity. A socialist/ communistic society with a dictator, and part of the new world order.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47969136

This is a truism known throughout all of history. Your soldiers have families and needs of their own. When you don't pay them, they're not your solders for long.

You pay your army in worthless fiat, you will wind up with a worthless army.

EDIT: for spelling ( Hey I've been drinking lol )
 Quoting: Nefarious Libertine

Here's an interesting thought to Ponder, Congress just "Suspended" the debt ceiling for 1 year.

But they have a Budget this year, so supposedly they know how much debt they will need to accrue, so why not just raise the debt ceiling rather than suspend it?

Unless they know there will be an emergency where they will need a massive jump in the debt...
 Quoting: Saddletramp

Only one answer for both of these. War.
Combat soldiers gone overseas and only a few pencil pushers left at home. It has to happen that way.

Good thread. I am a precious metals guy. Not a lot mind you, but enough to cash in and leave if possible. I think OldYellen will take the brakes off with this tapering nonsense and put the pedal to the metal in the next few months. The dolar is showing weakness and the metals are firming.

Sadletramp is right if everything is equal. its not.
the reason is complacency. The EU is already about to take savings...people will moan and grown but until they rise up nothing will change. that's the wild card, the apathy of the people.

Sadly it would appear real doom will come from some radical earth change like earthquake, volcano or drought caused famine.

The money will simply keep pumping.
I love you.

Saddle thank you so so much for this incredibly thought out analysis. What I can't figure out is what the 2 trillion in excess reserves are for. Are they to help stabilize the center as the banks start to default? Or is it just money on the ledger as a consequence of QE, and that will simply vaporize?

It isnt about them. They can keep pumping money as long as they want. Its about you and me. Its about us. The "little" people. We are the problem. We need to be the solution.

But its NOT going to happen. Ever. This much is true.

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits, rebels, the trouble makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.

They are not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

But the only thing you can't do is ignore them, because they change things. They push the human race forward.

And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do!

Great thread.

I have to admit, most of this financial/economic info isn't something I know a lot about, but I get the gist of it enough to know we're in trouble.

Wanted to ask, and I think it's been mentioned, but is it the popular belief by a lot of you economics-savvy folks that TPTB will drag us into the pit of global war (I mean a shooting war, like WW III) when the economy is finally officially ruined?

Thanks and sorry if it's a dumb question.

I believe the only reason the reserves are this large is to keep the new/printed money out of the economy to keep inflation under control. Once/When the reserves start to circulate inflation is going to really take off. The question is what will be the catalyst to get the banks to start using the reserves.
