Re: The Grand Finale Pt. III: Janet Does Davos (latest update p. 195)
Great thread.

I have to admit, most of this financial/economic info isn't something I know a lot about, but I get the gist of it enough to know we're in trouble.

Wanted to ask, and I think it's been mentioned, but is it the popular belief by a lot of you economics-savvy folks that TPTB will drag us into the pit of global war (I mean a shooting war, like WW III) when the economy is finally officially ruined?

Thanks and sorry if it's a dumb question.

Who knows at this point, but currency wars lead to hot wars, that has been true throughout history.

Don't know for sure, but I think war is a likely outcome of this...

Re: The Grand Finale Pt. III: Janet Does Davos (latest update p. 195)
what does a "RESET"
actually mean for the average joe with a mortgage
and why avoid the inevitable? is it only to crush the middle class?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26614548

Anyone with savings or a house is going to get crushed.
 Quoting: Saddletramp

I don't see why owning a house is a bad thing, even when it loses value, it's more comfortable than a tent or renting next to hordes of idiot scum... or maybe you meant being radically upside down on a mortgage.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8519969

I have a house too, and it's paid for. Should have just said anyone with a net worth is going to take a beating most likely...

I do see another leg down coming in residential real estate, but mainly what I meant was anything that's valued in dollars is likely to be very volatile for awhile.

Re: The Grand Finale Pt. III: Janet Does Davos (latest update p. 195)
Saddle thank you so so much for this incredibly thought out analysis. What I can't figure out is what the 2 trillion in excess reserves are for. Are they to help stabilize the center as the banks start to default? Or is it just money on the ledger as a consequence of QE, and that will simply vaporize?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49086209

I believe the only reason the reserves are this large is to keep the new/printed money out of the economy to keep inflation under control. Once/When the reserves start to circulate inflation is going to really take off. The question is what will be the catalyst to get the banks to start using the reserves.
 Quoting: C4G3

Every financial institution in the world is socking away cash right now, but that means they're not circulating it into the economy through loans. Basel III and Dodd-Frank were made to address a SHTF scenario after all.

Straight up I can promise there will be NO WORLD WAR. Why?

Because of the internet and globalization. Air travel. Twitter. Facebook. Internet commerce. Porn.

It's not like the old days in WW2 where you could rile up millions of people to go to war. Or even in 2001. These days you can no longer do this....Too much interaction between peoples in different countries. Too much tourism, immigration and mass mixing around (globalization).

All the world leaders are also joined at the hip. Watch their masonic handshakes. Business leaders are joined too.

What I can promise is that the war against human being's minds and hearts will and is intensifying. It's the war to make you more evil and have your consent at the same time. People will not mind being brainwashed into becoming more sinful and evil, while they think they are ok. It's happening.

This is the REAL war. This is the REAL agenda. Watch the stock market go to the moon.

Watch.

Yes but politicians need the populace to have enemies, otherwise the attention might focus on them

And nobody loves war more than the bankers...

The game has changed Since Jan 1, with Basel III, Dodd-Frank, and now myRA the Governments of the world are forcing banks to hoard cash as tiered reserves, that means Trillions moving into the bond markets where all that excess liquidity can conveniently be easily soaked up and removed from the system...

With all due respect, I think you miss the point.

Economic collapse is NEVER as simplistic as it seems, and straight off to the concentration camps we go, and then what? World war?

No, this ain't the movies. People today are MUCH more aware (just NOT awake).

By the way, I don't trade the stock market any more because I do not want any part in this evil (but many still do). It's not going down, not for some time yet, and even then it won't be as doomy as painted. Not even half as bad.

The real war may be Government(s) against their own people, but there will be something for the masses to watch on TV for awhile, a side to pick. Will it escalate into WWIII like we think of it? Probably not given the Globalization already in place...

But you need to research how much liquidity is currently being drained out of the system before you start talking stock markets to the moon my friend. Those days are quickly coming to an end.

They're pulling the plug just like they did in the Great Depression only on a Global scale this time.

Ordo ab Chao...I think the time is near they will create the Chaos they need to obtain the Order they want.

Thank you for the link. What a circle jerk.

Question: Why can’t they just shut it down once they’ve corralled everyone into UST? No inflation. A revaluation against PMs and a basket of commodities over the course of a week with bail-ins of course. I know this sounds overly simplistic, but why can’t they do it?

Of course if they shut it all down, then the politicians can’t save the day. But my thinking is that the inflationary pain needed for a response and Hegelian
solution could spin out of control on them. It seems like quite a trick they’re trying to pull off.

That is precisely what I argue is going to happen eventually, but first they will have to have enough economic chaos that people will accept it.

Looks like those green shoots got buried under about four feet of snow...

Thank you for this thread ST! You are a beautiful person to so unselfishly give to all who would come and take. I am a newby to glp but I have learned so much in such a short amount of time throughout all the boards. (Thanks to all, really)

Another stupid question, how do you think this is(?)related to the standoff with Japan/ China? Is it the way to go ahead and usher in ww3 or a way to strongarm China to maintain the dollar?

LOL. And doesn't the "polar vortex" pushed by the Rothschild's weather media to cover massive geoengineering perfectly describe the dynamic of the hurricane metaphor of the financial system as we watch the credit get sucked into the vortex of Treasury bonds, as the system "freezes up."

And all the winter storms now for the first time have names of Greek mythology figures. These fuckers literally think they are gods. Presto, an excuse for all of the coming inflation in AG commodities.

A few years ago if you'd talked to me about this shit I'd have dismissed it out of hand. Now enlightened by you guys I listened to Lagarde do a complete NON SEQUITUR into the numerological significange of the number 7 and I almost pissed my pants.

God bless GLP.

Re: The Grand Finale Pt. III: Janet Does Davos (latest update p. 195)
ST, an advice please. I rent, don't own a house. Interest rates most likely won't ever be so low. So maybe it's the last chance. Renting does not give me the possibility to save enough to buy with cash. Also does not allow me to prepare well enough (a nice basement, a nice food garden).
Should I get a 30 yr fix mortgage and ride the storm? Do you see big inflation after the initial deflation?
