...No it's not dickbrain. It's now at $334. Even lower! Check it out: [ link to www.xe.com] though it is so volatile could be 50-100 up or down on 334 within minutes. It's not looking pretty. Bury your head all you want, but bitcoin has had it's day in the sun, and it's sunburnt to hell. My understanding is xe, which is considered among the most reliable of forex sites, takes the average of various exchanges. Unless there is some arbitrage potential, the difference could be down to some exchanges only willing to buy at a certain strike price (i.e. much lower than what is apparently being shown within a localized exchange like mtgox, maybe because they know the goose is cooked). I would not be ignoring the current 350ish being shown on xe. I've been following gox, btce, stamp and xe, seems that xe goes directly off mtgox But check xe right now, 330. And gold and silver are off to the races as we speak. Something is up.
