To buy pepper spray or mace you must have a state-issued firearms ID!! So ridiculous! I just did a google search, and according to this website [link to www.loyaldefender.com] it states that you need a license, like you said but an interesting thing I see is that you are allowed to have dog mace and bear pepper spray? If they are allowed to buy that I have no idea why they would restrict pepper spray for personal protection. |

Quoting: Nostril Domus It’s probably not wholly surprising that Massachusetts, one of the bluest states in the country, has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. But what might come as a surprise is that the Bay State also strictly controls sales of pepper spray and mace. Currently, a Massachusetts resident looking to buy pepper spray or mace must have a state-issued firearms identification card, the same as someone who is buying a gun. But state legislators from both parties want to change that. At least five bills have been introduced to block some of the onerous red tape currently required, including the background checks and ID requirements. Massachusetts is the only state in the country that imposes the firearms ID card restriction for the non-lethal, eye burning defense sprays, according to the Gun Owners Action League, an NRA affiliate in Massachusetts. Democratic state Rep. Colleen Garry sponsored one of the bills, recalling a personal experience she had, the Fitchburg, Mass., Sentinel & Enterprise reported. She got a license, but didn’t think it’s necessary. “I had a situation in my own life that I thought my family members were at risk,” she said. “I did not want to get a gun, but I wanted to be able to protect them.” [link to www.theblaze.com] Pepper spray and mace are nice, but only have a 6-8 foot range. Plus it can be expensive. Buy wasp spray instead. It's cheaper, you get more per canister and it shoots 20-27 feet. Plus when you spray it into a perp's eyes, they have to go to the hospital for treatment. Not hard to find them after that! |

Ohh, and there's more guns than residents and crime rates in the country are pretty damn low. Term Limits for EVERY elected and appointed office. An end to career politicians for real change. |
