interesting he was part of the same mission as a friend of mine's dad was ... the rescue of the embassy hostages in iran during carter's admin. forget 7 degrees of separation...in the US at least (i guess especially in the military), it's often just 2 or 3.

thanks for linking the article. a classmate of mine is a photographer and i think also writes for the stars and stripes, but i never read it anymore as i am never on a base / post. i guess we can access it on-line now though.
