I asked a dog once, but he did not reply, just looked at me, drooling.

I saw they did scans on dogs brains, it took them a while to train the dogs to not move around.
They couldn't drug the dogs because then it defeats the scans.

What they found was....
Nearly identical to how humans respond to love and affection.

No, they do not. Dogs are the closet animals that are relatable to humans. They feel joy, happiness, fear, hurt, neglect, remorse and trust. That is why dog is God backwards. Other animals act out of pure instinct and in no way, shape or form have the emotions and feelings of a human. A snake wouldn't care if it killed you, let alone your feelings. Cats just love to be petted and mark their territory. As we saw from Sigfried and Roy, tigers don't give a crap either. No other animal have the heart that dogs do. That is why they (dogs) are called "mans best friend" and that is why eating dogs are seen as being taboo.

A dog will freaking fight for you and save you and I've seen it. No other animal will has those capabilities. Great, now I want another dog.lol

Seems to me all that don't know whether animals have feelings must not have any pets. I sure that some are just as void of feelings as many humans are, but that would represent a small minority.

Hell, I have birds that can easily react to my expressed emotions, sad happy etc.

Rats are much like dogs. Did you know? If you cant get a dog for whatever reason, try a pet rat. I'm not kidding here.

Not entirely true.
Large cats have been known to get along well with humans all the time.

The difference is personality.
Cats = Independent more like woman
Dogs = Social more like men

Some cats are more like dogs some dogs like cats.

It boils down to the owner/handler I think.

Mans best friend is symbolic for animals but you can see why everyone loves dogs lol, except woman with dogs for husbands :P

Re: Do dogs have feelings ???
ALL life has feelings... good gravy.. some days I seriously wonder what world people are from when they don't realize the simplest things. I mean, I know for many they block out the very rational thought that all life has emotion out of self guilt on how they treat other lifeforms, but we seriously need to move past this thought process that humans are the only sentient beings..

As for the "soul".. Look.. All life is energy. Energy can not be created nor destroyed only changed. Therefore, life can not be created or destroyed, only changed. Where any "soul" goes can only be learned once you experience it for yourself.

If your not sure if a dog has feelings... get a dog, or go volunteer at an animal shelter.

Of course they do. If you have to ask that question, its plainly obvious that you have never owned a dog.

Of course they have feelings.
If you have to ask, then either you've never spent much time around a dog - or you're completely numb to what's going on around you.

As for a 'soul'....
Only gullible religious/hippy fuckwits really believe that souls exist as a real entity.

I firmly believe they have souls and feel love. My little dog that I adopted from the shelter often looks at me in a way that I just know is pure love. As far as where they go, I always liked the
explanation of the rainbow bridge poem......

Re: Do dogs have feelings ???
This is always a Christian question... because they are conflicted between what they think they are reading in the bible:

Man is above all animals
Only man is created in the image of god
Only people have souls
Only people go to heaven
on and on

but their common sense tells them:

I am looking at this dog every day and it clearly has feelings - happiness, love, anger, sadness, protectiveness, loyalty, contentment. It is a sentient little creature, and I love the dog as well.

Having real love for the dog is the most puzzling for them, since they have been taught it is nothing more than a lesser creature. They feel guilty for loving their dog as much, if not more, than people.

So they try to rationalize it by saying the dog only appears to have emotions. As if the dog having emotions knocks them off of their special pedestal.

Anyways, I have never seen anyone other than a Christian or someone who has never been exposed to a dog ask this silly question.

Revelation 5:13
"And EVERY creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and ALL that are in them, hear I saying, "Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the lamb forever and ever.

(Ecclesiastes 3:18-21
"I decided that God is testing us, to show us that we are no better than animals. After all, the same fate awaits man and animals alike. One dies just like the other. They are the same kind of creature. A human being is no better off than an animal, because life has no meaning for either. They are both going to the same place -- the dust. They both came from it; they will both go back to it. How can anyone be sure that a man's spirit goes upward while an animal's spirit goes down into the ground?"

The Book of Job says: "Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind."
