You'd be updating the list every second, and what's the benefit of it? If it was for news or something, that'd make more sense as it'd be a quick check to see if any new news is posted, but thread posting? Unless I've misunderstood the use of the RSS feed on this site. |

I think it's a good idea. You can put the feed into a reader, and you see the thread, without having to load the pictures/avatars/smilies/etc. Great for people on 56k. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2269I don't think you can see individual threads. Just the list of the most recent threads. Just a link to the threads and the title of the thread, if I'm reading the output right. |

Use colour to indicate things. Reduce the size of the font, or letter spacing. use uppercase more Maybe lose the borders arround the the welcome and news dialogs and move the welcome dialog to the top right where it says theme: Chage the bg to a lighter colour, dark grey maybe. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 105403 United States 06/18/2006 12:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Right now, I have my Yahoo! home page setup to show the last 10 posts from GLP. This is really cool! Sergio, there are two problems with the feed right now: 1. Not seeing the Godlike Productions header when the embedded feed is displayed on my home page (yes, this might be a problem with Yahoo! but I'm not seeing this problem with other RSS feeds there). 1. Sometimes the individual feed items show up and sometimes they don't (again, not having this problem with other feeds on Yahoo!). Keep up the good work and please DON"T quit on RSS. It may take time to shake out the bugs but IMO it is definitely worth it. GLP is now at the bleeding edge of both consipiracy and technology. CONGRATS! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 105403 United States 06/18/2006 12:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | sergio, OK, for the moment I see a Godlike Productions header in the RSS feed on My Yahoo! GREAT! I just noticed another problem: Looks like GLP's character set is not compatible with standard HTML, for instance, this is how a recent item is being displayed in the feed on My Yahoo!: What's a genuine HE-MAN'S beer? versus what is actually showing up on the forum board: What's a genuine HE-MAN'S beer? Thanks again... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 105403 United States 06/18/2006 12:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here is the current appearance of the feed on My Yahoo! (I have my prefs setup to show only the "last" 10 items). From the times quoted, it looks like this order is not based on any data available in the feed. Also, I tried killing and then recreating the feed, and the item list hasn't changed: Custom avatars - New quote feature - RSS - Taking suggestions - 4 days ago Happy Fathers Day! - one hour ago I got stoned and I missed it - 32 minutes ago new electrical current: not AC, not DC, this might be the big break thru - 5 days ago **BREAKING***US Judges Rule Girls Can Marry At Age 12 - 1 day ago I must warn the American people that their lives are in grave danger - 16 hours ago Understanding The Programmers - 2 hours ago Sunpar's Words - June 18, 2006 Blue Team and Red Team - It Really Doesn't Matter! - 47 minutes ago What's a genuine HE-MAN'S beer? - 13 hours ago Funny how Americans are willing to die for the "Jewish State" but don't give a damn about Christians being executed in China - 2 hours ago |

You've gotta write it so somehow the filter doesnt catch you though, heh. Sergio Sergio, perhaps a _list_ of the currently banned strings could be posted somehere (in the FAQ, maybe)? That in itself would surely spark some lively debate... How about an interactive warning if any post triggers the ban filter, *before* the post is actually accepted by the upload mechanism? That thing is a PITA. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 105403 United States 06/18/2006 01:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | RE: sometimes the list of items displayed is empty.
