No way of knowing for sure what it really is....but it's not normal.....and it ain't no substation.
I posted a video of one of them blowing much earlier in the thread already.
Quoting: Useless Cookie Eater I agree that it wasn't the substation blowing up. That would have just been in a single location with a lot of bright flashes, and then darkness.
If it was transformers blowing, there should be some record of the many transformers being replaced by the power company, notifications to residents by the power company (Oncor Electric Delivery Company.LLC), things like that.
Which brings me to a strange thing I found.
This White House document from June of the year this happened:
[

In the footnotes on page 16:
"Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC, for example, received $3.4 million in ARRA funds to demonstrate dynamic line rating technology"
That smells like BS to me!
Now here is an interesting tidbit from this article:
[
link to www.nbcdfw.com]
"Jaime Molina with Oncor said about 4000 customers in the area were impacted by the power loss. Molina didn't know the number of transformers affected, but said
power to most customers should have been restored very quickly as they switched to another substation automatically."
Really? Or, did they intentionally feed the power from 2 substations to the same area to blow those transformers? Then comes the Government money...
I would love to see some photos of the "replacement" transformers now!
I like this thread. It keeps the mind active!
