it's funny how they react to rotary phones the way the older generation reacts to smart phones, ipads, etc...

they all just want to get on there and do what they know how to do..on a device they are familiar with...LOL

Loved the little boy who wanted to have one in his house to make it look older...I love the classics, he said..:)

Re: Kids react to Rotary Phones...LOL
actually you don't even have to use the rotary, you can call a person by pushing.

for example 1.857.839.5732

tap once break
tap 8 times, break
tap 5 times, break
...ect

call will go right through.

This.

By doing this you are simply emulating what the rotary dial does. The dial works by interrupting the line repeatedly, based on how far the dial moves. You can even do this with a modern phone as long as it has a 'hook' or 'hang-up' button that is depressed when the handset is in the cradle.

cute?

Snotty, coping an attitude and making excuses is not cute. TV and public school is not doing a good job raising these kids and oh yeah not many have European ancestors.

I think when they are in their 40's this place will be totally Mad Max. aka too stupid for a coherent tyranny. Probably tribal breakdown by sport team allegiance.

It's interesting to think that in the late 80's I was in my late teens and I used to drive hundreds of miles each weekend(alone) to visit friends at college..did not have cell phones back then..never thought about it.

Now, I cannot imagine going anywhere without it..
amazing how quickly we become dependent on technology

My first mobile phone was a bag phone..only charged in the car and was bulky and expensive...never used it, but had it just in case..

I am now to the point I have to ask my kids about some of the technology out there...and sometimes get their help..
It all happens so fast, anymore..too fast

Sorry, I couldn't respond earlier..something came up & I had to step away from the net for a bit.

Your welcome, everyone! I remember these phones as a kid..we even shared a line for a little bit with the neighbor too, like an earlier poster stated
