These are crossword clues. You have to find the answer with the clue given. So, the first example, GGES - the answer will be two words, the first word being 9 letters long and the second word 4 letters long. Die of Cold? - the answer will be two words, the first being 3 letters long and the second four letters long.

Make sense?

I'll give you a clue. The first word - use a different meaning than the obvious.

Is the second one ice cube?

Yes it is. And scrambled eggs.

How about:

Frank had slightly more than Edith [7]

And:

Clear SOS sent out for field game [8]

Clever, I don't think I would have ever fathomed the second one out, and I have a top 5% IQ.

Nope. It's pretty cryptic.

The second one is much easier.

Clever stuff, strangely Earnest kind of fits too, but yeah a good one that.

Old Blue Eyes did it his way and had a few regrets. Whilst Edith Piaf had Je ne regrette rien.

Piaf and Sinatra.

Second one anagram 'lacrosse'.
