Hello Everyone, A 7.2 on the North Side of San Andreas and A 6.0 on The South Side??? ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12181647 I don't understand why people think the earth "releases energy" and therefore don't think a big one could be coming! That's insane thinking. The earth is moving and this very well COULD be a foreshock to a big one. Something is causing the plates to move and it could be a warning for things to come. BE PREPARED PEOPLE! The earth is always moving. "Something is causing the plates to move" ...??? The plates are always moving. Since WHEN have they stopped moving ... ever? God, why is there always a dumbass on here. If you can't figure out the meaning of what I said, you're just an idiot! Awww, did I hurt your feelings when I called out your silly hysterics? Come on, WHAT are you --- an eight year old? If you're going to put forth a point, then be prepared to rationalize it. HOW exactly could these earthquakes be a "foreshock to a big one" ? How can you tell, pray tell. How could ANY earthquake NOT be a foreshock to another earthquake for that matter? IF all earthquakes were foreshocks to another earthquake, then is there really such a thing as a "foreshock" any more? Maybe they're all part of a daisy chain of tremors then, right ? No beginning, no end, just one after another. "Something is causing the plates to move"? Really? Were you awake in Science class in the 6th grade? Plate convergence? Subduction theory? Anything like that ring a bell? You know, I like GLP because it's GREAT in getting the scoop on shit before it hits the mainstream media. Stuff like the Japan earthquake ... I heard it first on GLP and rushed to turn on the TV once I saw the posting on the boards. GLP is a great underground source of news and info that often never make headlines. Not everything needs to be factual either. I do enjoy the opinions and ideas that people throw around. Some are really creative, and really enlightening. That being said, GLP is not your everyday, run of the mill, doom-and-gloom-conspiracy board. If you're gonna say something here, then it better NOT be some damned CLICHE. It's shit like that that makes outsiders think we're all just a bunch of hysterical wackjobs. |

Hello Everyone, A 7.2 on the North Side of San Andreas and A 6.0 on The South Side??? I'm actually more concerned that these might be connected to the Cascadia fault system than to the San Andreas. It's just a hunch, though. Quoting: Éireann I believe that's the area they are showing is the Cascadia. That is the one fault line in northern America believed capable of creating a 10+ quake. |

Quoting: Éireann As a Humboldt County long time on/off resident I'll tell you it is CONNECTED to Cascadia. I've been through over one hundred quakes from that fault at my old home in Eureka. The area has been getting booms and flashes for months, but quieted down the last month or so. lost coast outpost dot com is some news from there... The am said Mt.Shasta was steaming w/ debris flows this morning & I've heard nothing since. This fault does (clank quakes) mostly with a roller every so many years, last one was 2009. The one off coast Oregon does the same, no biggie. |

Well thank goodness for that bit of insight. Imagine all of the lives which could have been spared from all of the senseless wars for him and in his name. Perhaps he'll intervene from now on. </doubtful> Eireann~ I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20 |

Hello Everyone, A 7.2 on the North Side of San Andreas and A 6.0 on The South Side??? All this 2 days before the anniversary of the most destructive quake in recent history? Quoting: Drunk Uncle 3-11-14, The Big One Hits Cali, you heard it here first... no way. the energy has been released, won't see another big one for months I heard an expert talking once (don't remember the name). Anyway, he said it was a misconception that energy was released and that it would stop another earthquake on most faults. He said it doesn't work that way in certain types of earthquakes--that they build pressure or something. It didn't seem real logical to me, but then I do not understand much geology violet |
