The question is what did Jesus's walking on water mean?

Walking in faith with the word of God!

It MEANS..that he can pretty much walk anywhere he wants because its HIS world..HE made it..so he can walk anywhere he damn well pleases on it.

Pretty much answers the question here. He told the storm to be still, it did. Nothing is beyond His Hand of power, as said, He made it all

I always thought of water as being everyone's ideas and opinions. He walked on water because he went his own way and wasn't pulled under by another's ideas, judgements, opinions, etc.

so the walking on the waters in a sense could be a picture of the message of Jesus coming out all over the world.

Besides the obvious that is Jesus was walking to the boat because it was faster than swimming:
Mt 14:22 ¶ And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

He's sending them ahead because he knows he will catch up to them plus to show them what's up as we will see here:

also it was to have them understand he is the Son of God as they said.
