Anyone here have tinnitus? Any good treatment for it?
I found a lot of threads on tinnitus but I was wondering if anyone here that has it has been to a doctor and gotten an effective treatment for it. I am able to ignore it most the time but its worst in the evening before bed.
I look forward to any info any of you have.
Thanks

I've had it bad ever since my 1st vertigo attack almost 4 years ago.

Chiropractic treatment helps, I have white noise going when I'm bed to try to drown it out a bit.

Mine is more like a heartbeat in my ear.. Anyways, I went to the chiropractor and he adjusted me.. He told me to come back in a week but I hadn't... Well, it eased up a lot... Maybe a few more adjustments and it'll be completely gone. Maybe find a good chiro

Regardless what people will tell you, there is no treatment for it. There is no medical treatment and any natural treatment I've ever tried doesn't work.

Had it since I was a small kid, deal with it now by having a fan on while I sleep.

Other than that it's just getting used to it.

I took some of those silly pills that were on the half price shelf that says for hearing and tinnitis.

They actually worked! Give it a couple days. Dont have em now- you just reminded me to get some.

There's an amino acid that's really good for it. Gabba. In fact if you drink a good protein shake with lots of amino acids in it it will help big time. I have tinnitus and when I'm on a daily shake I don't notice it. It's a neurochemistry issue for most people I suspect.

I took a little potassium chloride (salt substitute) each day and it reduced the pulsing in 3 days.

Re: Anyone here have tinnitus? Any good treatment for it?
vinpocetine.

My father in law has had tinnitus for 20+ years. I gave him vinpocetine, and it has helped more than anything he's ever tried.

I recommend starting with 20mg in the am for 2 was, increase to 30mg the following week, and up to 40mg in the am.

I believe the key is to take it consistently. I take it as part of a nootropic stack for memory and mental clarity. No negative side effects noticed, it's a natural product (from the periwinkle plant), and inexpensive.

Had my wisdom teeth removed and woke up with tinnitus. Mine is probably actual physical damage caused by the surgeon.

SO, having said that, I've yet to find anything to stop the RINNGGGG in my ears.

I can't wait to die, just so it will finally stop.

My ENT said that there is nothing that he can do. He has over 30 years experience. I get some relief when he cleans my ears cleaned out for a few days, but it comes back. It's been bad today. I always go to sleep with my pastor talking.

Re: Anyone here have tinnitus? Any good treatment for it?
I have studied everything I could find in the last two years. There are theories but no cure. Mine is better at times and sometimes worse. Apparently caffeine can make it somewhat worse. People have had operations on their ear/ears but still no cure. It is also believed that the cause is not in the ear but the ear brain connection. If you've ever been around a loud gun that caused ear ringing when you were young it is only temporary but as you get older it becomes more permanent most likely as a result of some hearing loss as you get older. Really bad cases have driven some people to near insanity. Sometimes I guess I get used to it and don't notice it but it is always there. Being in a silent environment is the worst. I keep an eye out for any new developments.

BTW...sometimes if you bite down hard on your rear teeth it can increase the squeal which I have experienced. That leads me to believe that it can be affected by the jaw/tooth/nerve structure. ??????
