Checking in now, I've been without power or internet since we moved into our house on the 1rst of October... We got connected to the Grid yesterday and the internet today. This was my first stop to try to get some info on the Flu, I figured someone was tracking it... I'll be around again now. In the beginning of my third Trimester and not going out in this crappy weather a lot.

Thank You.
We got smashed with something back in the beginning of October. Knocked all of us except the 11 month old (at the time, who was still on the breast) were sick for weeks. Nothing we did seemed to help. I'm seeing some things on there being some other kinda virus circulating besides just the H3N2.

The CDC is usually "private" with info so as not to cause a "panic". I don't know what the CDC budget was in the Omnibus bill, but since the bill was heavy on military stuff, I'd have to think the CDC was well funded.

Has anyone else been dealing with the insane "cold" this year? We have had it in my house for almost a month now. My 10 year old got it around the 30th of march, the 17month old got it around the 2nd of april, I got it around the 4th, and I had the new baby on the 10th.
It's just a cough and runny nose, with a sore throat from time to time. No fevers or anything serious, it doesn't seem to respond to vitamins or medicines. We've been to the doctor, which was pointless since we were just told its a cold.
Half the people I know in the New England area have had this one for the past month, is it in the other parts of the country or not?

17/21 dead while it may change makes this one likely to be the Zaire strain ~ 80.9% mortality.
Though if it starts to get treatment the rate may drop.

This thing is spreading fast...The area is remote, but has close access to major water ways leading to two cities with large populations in close quarters. Be on the look out for spread into these two major cities...each city has a couple million people...

I'm currently on Hilton Head relaxing, but, I'll dig out my old laptop with my news sources from the last outbreak, and see what's going on.
