Threatening behaviors..physical or VERBAL..as determined solely by a mandated reporter^^ see above as to who is qualified.. This can include someone who goes to the ER and leaves against medical advice or after waiting for a while you decide you cannot afford to be there and leave before being seen, but after being registered.. if any of the "qualified examiners" think you are a threat to yourself or others they must report it.. if you are on pain meds and call for a refill too soon or say that you lost or damaged your meds(it can happen)...they must report you. You are guilty until proven innocent.. Your FOID card is revoked without a hearing and you must fight a lengthy and expensive battle with no guarantee you will get your rights returned.. If any of the "mandated, Qualified Examiners" thinks you are a threat in any way or just wants to be a dick they can and will call DHS and you will lose your rights without a trial by your peers... you can find this info here [link to foid.dhs.illinois.gov (secure)] but you have to be one of the "qualified examiners" to see it..you have to log on.. I have a copy that I got from a close qualified examiner..I am passing this info along.. TY..Ya, The only reason I knew about this was because I just took the concealed carry classes with a friend of mine.. She is a nurse in the neurology department and this is what they have to do.. She printed off info from the DHS site for us. Like I said, this doesn't just involve those who have mental health issues..it affects everyone. And any dick of an "Examiner" can and will report you whether it is legit or not...if they so choose. And you are automatically guilty and FOID revoked. The stuff we can see as the public is not what the "examiners" can see on their DHS site..we are denied access to that info.. I thought it was important and wanted to get the word out. Something to be careful of if you go to the ER and leave or are on pain meds and call for a refill too soon.. What we see if just the common sense stuff...mental health problems, clear and present danger(although that is too broad), violence... the scary stuff that people would be worried about is denied to us, as they know people would not stand for it. I've never have been asked either. I have been asked by a G.P. how my mood was and if I'm feeling down.(I lost my wife six years ago) I answered that I'm doing well and feeling good. The chance of losing your 2A rights will put a bigger stigma on getting psychiatric care. Getting treatment will mean losing a constitutional right. |
