GLP Ham Radio Discussion, Public Service, and HelpThread 73
Since the Baofeng topic here [link to www.godlikeproductions.com] was sliding off from discussing purely Baofeng radios I decided to start a topic of my own. Here discussions about all kinds of ham radio from your local NOAA Weather Radio, via RTL-SDR USB dongles, to hacking your Tecsun PL-660 for better antenna gain and clearer reception are encouraged.

I would like to offer a helping hand to people who have questions about ham radio in general and SDR# software with the USB dongle specifically. I own two dongles and have around half a year of operating experience in them. Mostly in a Windows and Android / Linux environment.

Just recently I unlocked them for 0-14.4 MHz reception, as they were limited to 30-1800 MHz previously. It's been a great learning experience so far, and I hope to help people out with such thigns as well.

Now I might not reply within the hour, but usually most questions will not be left out and will get my attention. Feel free to join me in helping people learning how to communicate in their local neighbourghood and worldwide as well! I'd love some help on the more technical and antenna topics!

My own focus on ham radio reception has been airband so far, as Russia has no Public Warning service on any radiobands. Currently I am not licensed as a Technitian / own a Class 4 radio license, thus I cannot easily transmit sadly.

If any foreign minister begins to defend to the death a "peace conference," you can be sure his government has already placed its orders for new battleships and aeroplanes.
