(OP) User ID: 75157 Canada 06/22/2006 11:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just an update from Urban Survival re critter noises. He has had some responses which he plans to plot on a map... From: [link to www.urbansurvival.com] "...Meantime, I've had 45 responses to our animals acting oddly question posed yesterday morning - about 40 of these report something out of the ordinary. Most common: a lack of night sounds. On the question about ringing ears, 51- responses, and about 45 report an increase in ringing. If I get some time, I will put the ringing and animal oddities up on a map of the US as it seems like the reports are in an arc (think of it as the arc of a new moon) with ends in Maine and maybe Arizona/Colorado, and covering much of the South. That's just a sense from reading all the reports - a geographic display might put things in some kind of context. And interesting sidelight (at least to me): It seems almost none of the responses come from people who live in big cities like New York, Washington, Atlanta, and so on. Most reports seem to come from smaller towns. It's almost like big city folk are either disconnected from their environments by the day-to-day pressures of life, or they can't hear their ears ringing above the din of city life."
