Each to their own. I prefer a vegan, raw diet.

Personally i find meat doesn't agree with my digestive system. I have also found it effects behaviour.

I also couldn't kill so aren't going to pay someone to be cruel to and to kill for me.

The cruelty the mass production, battery hens, sow stall etc really gets to me.

I believe we are taught animals are dumb for a reason.

I've studied enough biology to discern in my own mind that we are not natural meat eater.

I'm not a vegan but I the only animal products I eat is the occasional egg (mostly in products, like bread etc) and maybe a little ice cream or milk in my coffee on occasion. I try to stick with almond milk but sometimes there's nothing like real milk!

Yes and they are becoming harder to source. People don't even realise most seeds they buy from retailers are not only gm they don't even produce viable seed. They have made them infertile so you have to keep buying, season after season.

The reality most don't see is the situation we find ourselves in has had a lot of time and effort put into it. It is all by design to the detail, and certainly not for our interest or benefit.

This is what your are responsible for, you pay for it. Want to eat meat, have the dignity to do it yourself and show some humanity, or eat what you can live with.

Do you know why a drumstick is longer on a free range hen than other hens, they stand in their own discharge all day and it burns their legs, they cut them higher as even plucked you would notice the burns and discolouration and wouldn't eat it. Do you know how your nuggets are made?

I think it is important to cut down on meat. Eat only small amounts of very good quality meat and make sure you know where the animal comes from.

We get our meat from a local butchers and quite often know the farm from where they came.

Full literal interpretation of that verse means cannibalism, or eating thy neighbors, is eating "everything that lives and moves about that will be food for thee". So, cannibalism should not be condemned(?) if you really want to apply the fullness of that verse in it's literal sense.

I've no issue with vegans. What I have issue with are those that don't practice what they preach - which are all vegans.

Hate to tell you this, but not eating animal products means shit if you still buy your clothes at stores, drive cars, use the internet, and have a bank account. Break down everything that goes into the process to get you those things. Yep, guess what, you are killing animals and the planet.

So unless you guys are hermits in a cave picking your own cotton for your clothes, you are not vegan. You are just more folks jumping on the trend.

What a load of nonsense. Every restriction in consumption is positive and a vegan definitely consumes less energy, water, land, etc. than a vegetarian or a meat eater.

The major problem is the taxes you have to pay and that are being used to subsidize milk and meat consumption (an live animal exports to muslim countries) in a way that meat, eggs and milk products in Europe are cheaper than vegetables. This is perversion sponsored by the EU.

I have been vegan for 20 years and look like I'm 20. I look younger now than I did when I went vegan. I have helped thousands go vegan. Those that stayed with it are in great shape. Those that didn't, well... let's just say they wish they had stayed with it.

For those worried about protein, you get protein from all whole food sources. Everything that grows uses amino acids to build itself. If you eat a variety of plant food that is not all processed you will get all the protein you need.

Did you know that gram for gram raw sunflower seeds contain more protein than egg? You don't need eggs to survive. Spirulina is also a great protein boost if you're so worried. I take zero supplements, barely eat spirulina, when I remember, and eat the rainbow of organic fruits and vegetables and my blood work is fantastic according to the doctors.

My skin is supple and I have zero stretch marks after having a baby!!!! I also nursed and there is not one mark on my body that would tell you I had a baby.

I was raw for years as well. The best I ever felt. I'll go back to eating only raw food soon :) I love food!

I went vegan after researching my alternatives and I can't kill. I tried to kill a frog once with a 22 and it severely damaged my soul. My dad is a hunter and I grew up watching him hunt. Nuts, coconuts and linseed are perfect sources. They contain a lot of omega 3 fat.

Look into the costs energy wise of what it takes to ship these products to you. To process them. The foods and supplements vegans need to be healthy Lends them a higher carbon footprint. And that is a fact, you can google that.

No, pointing out hypocrisy. I've no problem with people trying to eat less meat. I can rarely eat meat myself, since I have gout. And it is admirable for folks to try to be more Eco minded.

I was talking more to the people going on about meat eaters being evil murderes all that, while making themselves out I be virtuous. These are he same people that do that, then go import apple computers, buy non natural fiber clothes, and all that other jazz.

We do not need animal protein if you know how to get that from your vegetarian diet.

Though not a vegan (am vegetarian) I eat a lot of lentil soups which has much better and innocent proteins than animal meats.

Brother or sister the reason for not eating meat is not going green but saving the life of an innocent defenseless animal which wants to live just like my son and daughter want to live. By killing it I put my one meal (or maybe a few meals) more than the life of the animal.

We have become so selfish that we kill and take away the life of an innocent animal to satiate a few of our meals. Put yourself or your baby in the place of the slaughtered animal and then tell me if you will call the meat eaters murderers or not?

The problem with that, is you are still killing animals. Even by posting here. Don't believe me? look it up.

You can't avoid it unless you are a Hermit. You can however, reduce what you do. Eat and consume products more logically, researching what you are doing. And that is the name of the game. It won't give you any spiritual superiority. It won't get you any health superiority. It however, may keep the planet safe for a little while longer - which is its own reward.

So effectively, if you are becoming a Vegan to prevent from killing animals, you are unfortunately not going to achieve that goal. If you are doing it to try to be more eco-friendly, that is sustainable. But then you don't necessarily need to go Vegan. You just need to buy local, and I mean real local.
