Make no mistake folks. 95% of what congress does is create tax code. Say what you will about the various regulatory agencies, but they generally make the rest of the federal rules we are supposed to live under (EPA,FAA, NRC, DOE, etc.) Those folks do it based based on quasi academic principles that can be peer reviewed over time. Tort Law was largely finished 100 years ago, there is little new work to be done there, and if so, it is done by the state legislators.

Everyone on that committee, Democrat, Republican, the congress itself, and staffers, senior management at the IRS, are lawyers and political science types who are so worthless they would starve in the garden of Eden. Don't get to vested in any fruits of this soap opera.
