At one point I was asking for advice on here about a vehicle that I had been renting through a buy here pay here service, you may recall. I simply could not afford the monthly insurance cost coupled with the required repairs and the remainder of the loan, which was about 50% of the total buying price ($2600).

I was able to get a hold of the BHPH and spoke with the salesman and it was great. He said he liked me, I was one of his best customers and that they would work with me on what to do next, and actually gave me options!

I can give the car back and just take the loss for what I've put toward it, get into another vehicle with what I've put into this one credited toward it, or have him fix it and add the cost to my loan.

Well, for me, giving it back and taking the loss makes the most sense. Getting into another vehicle would still require full coverage car insurance ($170 a month) and a monthly payment ($240). With gas, that is well over $500 a month just to be able to drive when I live 3 miles from work... Doesn't make much sense when I could save that $500 a month and put it toward a car I can buy outright.

Well, just this morning I scheduled with him to pick it up tomorrow. I then find it HAD BEEN BROKEN INTO!

You fucking kidding me??

I've been at this apartment for a month TODAY and my vehicle is now damaged... well, not MY vehicle, but with what was said above, you can see why it is upsetting.

Now, I have no idea if he wants the vehicle back.

The window isn't shattered, but the regulator is fucked and the door handle and lock are tampered to the point that the drive door cannot be entered unless you open it from the inside...

SOOOO much stress, so little time!

TSHTF yet?

Your problem is you're too concerned with material possessions.

Give up all your possessions and things will improve dramatically.

Of course, that will happen if you move to a better neighborhood too.

I have done exactly this and it was very easy for me.

I'm only trying to get by until this time next year, when I'm relocating.

This is the best information you will get.

Buy a bike. Peddle to work for the warmer months of the year. Save your money. Then when its to cold to bike it...go buy your automobile.

Not only will you save the price of the payments, but fuel, insurance, maintenance, and damage from the asshats in your area.

On top of it all it is healthier to ride a bike 6 miles a day..when compared to sitting on your ass.

Hypothetically speaking. At 500$ saved per month for 6 months is 3000$. Far more than the price of the auto you mention.

Besides the exercise will get the blood flowing and then maybe some of it will actually make it to your brain. Leaving you in a win win win situation.

You are welcome.

Regards
