I am an electricity and natural gas energy consultant in Texas.

One of my suppliers put out an update today saying prices are high (natural gas has been about 35% higher than the previous 10 years), but, and I quote:

"there are numerous wildcards that could weaken prices, all of which are difficult to predict:

•Weather
•Economic collapse
•Market surprise
•Regional issues that impact both gas basis and power forwards

Thought that was hilarious. "If our economy totally collapses, energy prices may go down" lol

Only problem - economic collapse is a likelihood everybody is baking into their analyses..
