Whenever I am doing work that's maths/physics-related I like to listen to trance.
It helps me to focus, and I've never really looked into the reasons why. I wondered if anybody else has similar feelings to music perhaps not necessarily trance but any kind that helps them become more 'open-minded' with their thought processes in their work maybe scientific or not. Anyway I'll post one of my favourite songs and if anyone knows of any similarly sounding titles I would very much appreciate it thank you.

Anything without words but with structure is good for focusing the mind when thinking about girlfriends.

During my school days I discovered that it is impossible
to listen to "Master of Puppets" and do algebra and the
same time.

Trance and prog house got me through many, many hours of hand drafting in school.

I was always an unusual girl. My mother told me I had a chameleon soul, no moral compass pointing due north, no fixed personality; just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean... And if I said I didn't plan for it to turn out this way I'd be lying...
Because I was born to be the other woman. Who belonged to no one, who belonged to everyone. Who had nothing, who wanted everything, with a fire for every experience and an obsession for freedom that terrified me to the point that I couldn't even talk about it,and pushed me to a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me.

It got me through uni as well. Not just workwise, but as a means of complete relaxation. Sometimes you truly need to just switch off and let your mind float downstream every once in a while.

I think there really could be something to it with regard to brain activity. From the outset you'd think it would hinder concentration, but it may well be the opposite.
