Why is "The Catcher in the Rye" such a trigger?
I was never given the book to read when I went to school but it wasn't banned or anything. I still haven't read it but I'd like to soon.

The amount of pop/culture references like this book is an MK-ULTRA keyword or something.

Is it the events of the book? Or the people or allegory drawn from the title?

It was used first with Lennon and that should have been "it". so why bring it up again with Reagan? is there a connection between those 2 incidents?

It's like saying "every terrorist once read playboy". Except they didn't. Because they don't like sex with straight women.

Start again.

It's like saying "every terrorist has read the Koran".

Not exactly...

J.D. Salinger was a rumored CIA operative. The killers did more than just read the book, they obsessed over it and carried it with them everywhere. I think its possible that passages from the book were used on mind controlled people as triggers for assassin mode. Salinger would have known of this due to his connections.

DAMN YOU OP! Why did you have to post that quote? That sentence caused me to have an involuntary bowel movement and I have hemorrhoids dammit! This is why I have to wear adult diapers, I am a monarch project patient.

There is a reason why trigger phrases and materials are classified. Those whistleblowers have no idea how much chaos they cause when details are released to the public, like crapping your paints and sometimes it isn't so solid.

I'm in a Chinese restaurant now and my special saucy aroma is combining with the "Hot and Sour" soup. Oh my, the cramps. My back end looks like a hamster rear, all elongated as I am filling up my diaper, people are staring at me with an awful expression.

Don' you laugh OP! This is not funny!

What other triggers are GLP aware of?

Like the Rolling Stones for instance.

Re: Why is "The Catcher in the Rye" such a trigger?
It was, for a long time, on the mandatory reading list of schools across the U.S.

So, for kids who don't read, it might be one of the only books that they know at all, having it forced on them.

It isn't a "trigger" it's simply one of the few titles slow or mentally lazy people have to fall back on.

It used to be The Bible, but no one reads that now, except for the very religious.

I am glad that I kept it to a 'toilet-time story' and didn't read it anywhere else, as it was truly a shitty read and I couldn't agree more that it is beyond overrated.
