I dont want to sound goofy or desperate..but I met someone here on GLP a few years ago..and we "dated" for a few years..and things kind of fell apart. I think because we really never met in rl..and he always thought I cheated on him..farthest thing from the truth... Anyway..im thinking about getting a paid subscription just to find someone else I can connect with..is it worth it? Or do I sound desperate? Its hard at my age to date again...Im 52..and Im not a spring chicken anymore.. Look..I have my eggs all in a basket..I know how to survive..I make all my own bread..I have a bugout bag..my vehicle always has a full tank of gas..I have a tazer, mace..dont really trust myself with a gun..I live in the country..learning to make my own wine..I know how to sew up a wound..ummm..did I mention, that I like beer? It's just..finding someone at my age...locally..thats a joke. Paid subscription or not..and for MY reason?

While it may suck to wade through the b.s to find what you are looking for, if you keep at it you will eventually stumble across it. The key is to keep believing that you will. The fact that you can be up front about your desires shouldn't be seen as a sign of desperation. You're just being true to your expectations. That's what parents are there for lol. Mostly he would want to see you happy and your desire for a companion would top the list. It's always hardest to try again after past attempts, especially when they have gone sour, but you've got to keep trying. If anything you've found what doesn't work, keep on going until you find what does. While you may put importance on age, it's just a number and not a defining aspect of who you are.
