Quoting: Ahmed Dinner Jacket What danger was this 93 year old woman to an armed, younger man? A falling danger? Seriously. I can't think of any danger she would be. Call for backup and restrain her. No reason to shoot her. She might have been confused, but that is no reason to just shoot someone let alone FIVE FUCKING TIMES! Maybe she was a victim of "swatting" and the officer was late for donuts. 7 Billion people on the planet! That's a BIG number! And I am one. |

Did someone bring up the 21 foot rule? “They could have shot in the air to scare her. Maybe she would have dropped it. I don’t see her shooting anyone." The reason, IMHO, they shot her is because they are trained to do so. It is SOP. Regardless of who it is, they are trained to shoot them. There have been many threads here about it, and how they have specfic targets when training such as children and grannies with guns....and they are trained to shoot them. It is SOP, they are supposed to do it. All of you who think they won't shoot you, think again. They are picked, trained and protected by rules made up for them. They will shoot you. This is not how it used to be. It is now. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 57807548 United States 05/07/2014 03:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | bad time for the hearing aid to malfunction. This sounds like 2nd degree murder. Unless she was holding a gun herself, then there's no excuse whatsoever. If we find out later that she was brandishing a kitchen utensil or some nonsense like that, I'm going to be pissed. So what if she had a gun? It's her property and her right to carry! A 93 year old woman and the cop had to shoot her 5 times! Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. What the frick is wrong with officers today? What ever happened to coaxing people out of a dangerous situation? As someone said, the womans hearing aid may not be working, etc., etc. Did she fire at them? I bet she didn't. I don't know why she was "waving a gun around", but I bet she wasn't threating to shoot anyone. At 93 years old, waving a gun around is likely nothing more than she can't keep her arms steady. I can guarantee you, if anyone, police or otherwise burst onto my property or home and I'm near my weapon it will be in my hand before I turn to face the intruder. If there is alot of yelling going on, I'm not likely to understand what is being said. I already have to turn the tv way up to understand what is said. I guess I will be shot by the cops before I get an understanding of what is going on simply because I have a weapon in my hand while facing my intruders. Poor womans eyesight may have been failing her at 93 years old also. |

Even civilians with guns should know you don't point your gun at something you're not willing to kill. You don't shoot their leg or fire a warning shot you shoot to kill. That's why cops should only pull their guns out as a last resort after using non lethal methods unless they're really about to get shot then they have to shoot the suspect. |

Police are gaining a bad reputation anymore and it's by their own actions. People need to throughly vet their sheriffs and police commisioners or whoever the frick is responsible for the "training" officers recieve. Voters need to start demanding it. These people are voted in if I'm not mistaken. Voted in or appointed by someone voted in. |

I'm getting so tired of this BS. So, do "they" want us to know all this or is it supposed to be secret? Either "they" are trying to force us to revolt, or "they" have went too far in the brainwashing of cops, creating a monster that has gotten out of hand. What do you think? "They can only hold you down if you let them". |

On a good day, I'm sure she could lift a bag a sugar over her head. I bet if provoked, she could cover ten feet in less than ten minutes. The cop is obviously a hero, and should receive a medal. When Officer Stephen Stem arrived, he asked Pearlie Golden to “put down the weapon and then ultimately fired his own sidearm, wounding Miss Golden.” I would have shot the loony bitch too. These old people cross a line into nut bags real easy, and this obviously sounds like she went into that area of nut bag. |
