Timothy Geithner says he was instructed by the Obama White House to Mislead Americans on Social Security

Never heard the term before, but I'm guessing he means that Social Security is such a hot button for Obama's voters, that it's best not to even talk about it, as it would set them off like a dog that just got hit with a whistle. We used to call it a "third rail," because it's like the third rail of a subway track, the one that the electricity runs through. To touch it would be to suggest that, since SS is contributing to the debt, that we ought to do something about it, and woe to the man who suggests that we do something about Social Security.

My dad told me not long ago about Donnie Rumsfeld's book. Apparently everything that went wrong at the Pentagon for the 8 fucking years he was there, in charge, was the fault of everybody but him.
