Man calling himself god rams Baltimore tv station with stolen landscping truck. Barricaded inside and possibly armed. Building has been evacuated

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A potentially armed man has rammed a Baltimore television station WMAR with a dump truck.

Reporters at WMAR say everyone is safe, but the lobby is “smashed up.” Police say the building was rammed several times around 11:45 a.m.

ABC2 Meteorologist Mike Masco wrote on Twitter around 12:20 p.m. Tuesday that the driver of the truck "slammed his truck 7 times into our building."

The man remains in the building and may be on the second floor, Masco tweeted. He said that police found weapons in the vehicle.

Friend who works there compiled tweets. Here's what we've got from him: A man started screaming at the security guard in the front lobby to let him in. He was screaming, investigative reporter Brian Kuebler says, that he was God. The man then got into a landscaping truck and rammed the building three times. Meteorologist Mike Masco says police kept pushing evacuees back for fear of weapons found in the truck. So far, all of my colleagues in the newsroom say they're safe.

Mike Hellgren reports the man is reportedly barricaded in the building. He is possibly armed.

A SWAT team is surrounding the building. Weapons were reportedly found in the truck.

SWAT teams have joined a heavy law enforcement presence that includes Maryland State Police and Baltimore County officers at the station. Police have restricted access to York Road as a result of the incident.
