Literature/Science Buffs, I need some help.

A wise man once told me that there is no such thing as reality, only perception, so while its fortunate for us that "know thyself" is the first philosophical rule, its unfortunately tragic that the second rule isnt "know, also, someone else....so they might tell you should you be full o shit"

In all honesty, though, no wise man told me that, I just made it up.

It does make wonderful sense to me though, and adding a wise man always makes the joke better!

Really though, knowing yourself is a hard journey, but do able.

Knowing how others percieve you......lotsa tricksy-ness to that.

Which is probably why I avoid most people. You never know what kinda craziness you're getting into anymore!

Parallax: it's easier to demonstrate.

two points create a straight line; Your eyes are spaced apart by a few inches.
So
Close your left eye;hold your index finger up in front of your right eye.
sight an object farther away,line it up with the tip of your finger.(note how it looks lined up with your finger.)

now close your right eye and open the left: be careful not to move your finger. Note how the prevously sighted object has"moved" off the tip of your finger. Parallax. the only thing that moved was your vantage point( point of view).
