Re: I wish God had an E-mail address!!!!
I'll bite

(Disclosure: What I'm about to say is based only on my personal beliefs and experiences.)

I too wish that I could just walk up to God and sit down to a long conversation about "the meaning of life" (amongst other things) over a warm cup of coffee. Since God isn't human (from what I understand)that probably isn't going to happen.

Unfortunately for me, I only have the basis of my own human experience (in all its aspects) and the experiences of others that I observe to learn by. It is hard to understand concepts outside a human perspective when I only have the human perspective available to me. Yet, I think that the human intuition and conscience may aid in part of this understanding.

I like to think of the conscience (that gut feeling, that sense of right/wrong lurking in the back of the mind)as a communication device of sorts. Heeding conscience has aided me in times when logic alone failed. Why? Well, because it helped me to look at the greater picture of what was happening around me, to look at all sides of the story, and then choose my path based on the outcome I could see by taking a step back.

Does that mean I'm talking directly to God, through my conscience? No, I don't think so. What I do think is, conscience has been given to me by my creator so that I can see things from an outside perspective. It's like a weather almanac, sort of, and it helps me see through the storms and ill winds in life to the fair weather that is just beyond the horizon.

Keep seeking the truth, OP.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58398442

I guess my biggest question is does the truth have to come from GOD and do you need his answer after many hours of prayer and self reflection. I have just never gotten an answer. I have also tried to follow my "conscience" over the years as you have said to either the right or wrong decisions. I have paid many consequences, and reaped many rewards. As I come towards the end of this mortal life I just still feel that there is something undone that I need to finish!
 Quoting: Guitarguy55

Then maybe that is your answer: there is something you need to finish.

Re: I wish God had an E-mail address!!!!
I can hear God talk to me because I am a hearer. That's what He told me. I can hear Father, Lord Jesus and Lord Holy Spirit and when he is accusing me before God, I can hear satan too. I wish I couldn't hear satan. I don't like listening to him.

I have trouble making our sentences and words that I am not expecting. I "hear" with my brain. It's like I have antennae on the outside and middle of my brain.

I usually have to ask Him yes or no questions because I can distinguish Yes and No easiest.

Though I have heard Him tell me things. I was asking Him last night what gift He gave my son because my son is not a hearer. Father told me "He is a ...." I couldn't hear that part. So I still don't know what my sons gift is.

Moral of the story: Even if you can hear The Lord, that doesn't mean that you will be able to understand everything that He says.

He is still really good to talk to though. I enjoy our conversations. He listens to all my worries and thoughts and He loves me. I really like that.

I wish I could ask Him what your purpose is and give you an answer, but I don't know if I am allowed to do that. I don't ask Him to tell me things that would prove to other people that I can hear Him because it would be kind of like asking Him to do parlor tricks. I ask Him questions that I would like to have answered, but I don't ask Him for other people. If He wants to tell me something, that's up to Him, but I don't think it's right to put Him on the spot and I don't want Him to get mad at me.

If He doesn't want to give me an answer to a question, He just says, "Because he/she/it/they do." It's like Ahhhh! Ok. But He does tell me what the animals are thinking sometimes when they do things and I like that because I really didn't think the tiger at the zoo was very happy. Father said He was going for a walk. He didn't say that the tiger wasn't a little upset, but I assumed from what Father said that the tiger needed excercise. I really thought the tiger was unhappy. Maybe not. You know they put deer into the enclosure not 15 feet from the tiger enclosure. That must drive those kitties mad, don't you think?

Re: I wish God had an E-mail address!!!!
I have been on this forum for several years now and I have gotten good as well as not so good information from the good people here. The people who know me know I have survived much which is too long a story to get into now, but I truly feel that I have been called for a higher purpose and I have prayed on this, really sat down and read the Bible, talked with religious people to no avail.
I wish God had a direct connection so I could find out what he really wants from me. I'm searching high and low for this purpose and maybe someone here can help me find it.

Thanking all of you as always

First I would like to say thank you. Out at main page of forum reading topics and see wish GOD had direct email. I thought yep this person is lost. Gonna pop in be a good witness and say don't need one,if you just believe you can have a direct line to GOD. Click..read. What a giant dick I am. I feel just like this person and it took me thinking I was above, only to be humbled and realize this person know GOD more than I. Thank you for a life changing experience.
 Quoting: Space Ghost

You are quite welcome!! I have "humbled" myself before God I do not think of myself as an overly religious person!. Though I have done many good things and things I am not so proud of. But I try to walk a good path and see things through other peoples eyes before I do anything, but sometimes that lost feeling becomes a powerful beacon calling me towards a quite unknown objective. If you feel like I do then you understand. Thanks

He does! When you get any email from Nigeria asking for money that's the code word. Follow instructions and soon you will be emailing the divine creator.

I am happy for you that you have a "gift". I would never ask you to ask him for me, because that's a personal space I would never trespass on but thank you for the thought. I am sure that the Tigers get quite antsy with the deer so close.

Thanks for the 5 stars!! Does anyone else feel called but don't know where to?
 Quoting: Guitarguy55

You are exactly where you are suppose to be. Sometimes its best not to go in search of the answer, but let the direction guide you. If we spend all of our time worrying about what the purpose is, we miss the purpose.

You could just ask god for a sign, I have a few times in my life and have received those signs. So I know i'm exactly where I'm suppose to be.
If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.

The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.
Ayn Rand

There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part! You can't even passively take part! And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels…upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop!

Re: I wish God had an E-mail address!!!!
I figure I might as well share with you an "folk tale" I was told once, just for fun.

Here goes:

There was a man who believed that God would always answer his prayers directly. Through his life he had been faithful to that idea, always praying to God for specific solutions to each problem and obstacle he faced in life. For example: If his crops were in dying for lack of rain, he prayed for rain, and then it rained.

Always, it seemed to the man, that his prayers were answered directly and simply: just as he had prayed.

Then one day, there came a flash flood. The water rose quickly, in the space of an hour, up to the edge of the rooftop of the man's home. The man had escaped to the rooftop, but was in fear of drowning, so he prayed. He asked God, to send him a boat to escape the flood so that he could safely make it to higher ground.

Shortly after praying, the man saw a large log floating by which seemed able to support a man. The man considered the log for escape, and then thought, "I asked God for a boat, and since this is not a boat, I will wait."

More time passes, a raft appears on the horizon and floats up to near where the man sits. The tide bumps the raft gently up against the house, and the man seeing this considers it for escape. After careful thought, the man chooses to ignore the raft, believing that God would send him the "boat" he had prayed for- not a raft. The raft then floats away.

Eventually, a boat comes floating by, just within reach for the man to grab it. The mans prayers had been answered exactly as he expected. Yet, what he didn't realize that God had also sent the log and the raft to him as a means to escape.

(end of folk tale)

I think sometimes that is how things work. Sometimes the answer is not exactly what we expected, and we can hold out waiting for that "boat"...or we can choose the answer right in front of our eyes.
