How does one find grace in suffering?

Well, it's a worthy subject, so I pinned it as well.

We all 'have our crosses to bear' as some people say.


This, too, will pass.

Suffering is the pathway that leads us to grace. It teaches us the path that we walk on. We were never promised an easy road and some have had some very hard lives with trials. Train your eyes and your mindset find the blessing in it,humble yourself to it and it will lead you to grace.

All things do and I am looking for the inspiration for others who may be having a hard time!!

All things that happen to us has a reason. You didn't just get your body when you were born at random. You picked your life before you were even born. To work out old karma, at lest that are my feelings.

I think all who truly suffer deserve some modicum of grace to be able to hold ones head up each and every day!! Don't ya think.

...you know, as well, it always helps to put things into perspective by reminding yourself that others have led and continue to lead far harsher lives

As crappy as my life has been, I still have 2 arms and legs, I can still hear and see, I have a roof over my head, food to eat, etc.

There will always be someone far less fortunate than you or I, and I guess that sometimes when you are awoken in the middle of the night by pain or whatever your problems may be that line of "perspective" may become blurred just a little.

My sweet grandma used to say, "the person you are sitting next to may have it worse than you." So when I feel down trodden, I don't dwell on my own burdens, I try to find something nice to do for others. Big boost for the fuzzy happy feeling.

I've come to think that there is nothing to be learned from all the suffering. That karma stuff and choosing it stuff...I'm just not so sure. It's one of those nice answers that might be like that pretty log in the forest that you had better not roll over and see what is squirming underneath it.

However. We choose how we deal with the pain. Trying to live with grace and dignity is certainly the best way to go about it. It's actually a kindness to others that they usually are not even aware of.

We learn sympathy for others with our pain. If we don't break and turn cruel to others, as happens sometimes with mental anguish and physical pain.

So....the point of a whole world full of suffering???
You got me. I don't think there is one, to tell you the truth. Like everyone else who has a life like this, you just keep on truckin' and hopin' for the best, because what else can you do? Many people turn around and create more pain, and it's continuous...not good.

You find grace in suffering through the value of it. Most people are incredibly stupid and near sighted so they require pain and suffering to learn. That is your grace. A free education.

At first I thought it was karma and punishment (which some of it may have been). But now when I find myself feeling frustrated by all that I've been through I tell myself that I'm destined for something greater and that God gives the hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. Hang in there.

I didn't say I haven't found mine!! Just looking to give others hope if they cannot find it!!

Suffering is an unnecessary aspect of the human experience. It is not only
unnecessary, it is unwise, uncomfortable, and hazardous to your health. Make higher choices as how you perceive life.

It is what it is. Grace is found in living with those things that one cannot do anything to alter. Look around you, few people live without pain. Acceptance. Gratitude that things are not worse than they are.

Look at the alternative; is living wearing the yellow ribbon of suffering on your forehead any better?

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

By realizing that there's no one there to suffer. That is the grace. When you realize there's no "identity" that can suffer, you realize that "suffering" is just a story, and in its happening, it's just a moment.

Pain is one of the quickest pathways to god/universe/spirit/Tao, if you're willing to surrender the suffering to it and realize you ARE it.
