I just know that I'm different and spot on when it comes to sensing and feeling things, sniffing out stupid/evil people, dealing with kids and animals, strangers telling me their life stories, yada yada yada. I'm pretty social though, but after a function or party I am completely spent. |

Now I just send a text, and she is like OMG! Kinda funny. Don't know how or why any of this happens. Also, I'm narcissistic/self involved, generally (not happy about that either) so that is weird too. But it is definitely for real. And I'll tell you this - generally people are fucking stressed out, almost to the point of panic, this balloon has been blown up real big, and is soooo close to popping. (OP) User ID: 53671501 United States 05/28/2014 05:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here's a question for you T.C... What's the distinction beteen involuntary empathy (sensing someone else's energy (emotions) without the conscious intention to do so) versus experiencing empathy through the conscious decision to place yourself in their shoes and to try and perceive their circumstances through their eyes? Both instances bring about an emotional response but they occur through a different means.... I guess 'empathy' is multi-faceted? Quoting: ANHEDONIC I've thought about this quite a bit and it seems to me that perhaps the passive kind should bear a different name since the two, although related, are quite different. Having someone's emotional state seep into yours is much different than consciously trying to understand what someone is thinking and feeling. Quoting: Tinfoil Couture YES Just because YOU don’t believe in the Rougarou; or the Loup Garou, don’t make you safe; No ! The Constitution is a blend of 'moral certitude' -- which is one of the reasons that criminals are determined to be rid of it and We the People must be even more determined to defend it. (OP) User ID: 53671501 United States 05/28/2014 05:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Empathy are very real, I believe it to be a survival skill that's long forgotten. It's serves me how to take another's mood and keep safe if need be. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58601934 The difference between knowing and understanding is you can't understand how another truly feels only how you would feel in the same situation, and that's quite different to another person. Being truly empathetic is you just know. Have to be careful of psychic vampires empathetic people always get sacked in. The survival skill angle is an interesting one. Perhaps spiritual leaders stopped teaching about it and it became the stuff of woo woo. There are definitely people who will suck every bit of vitality from you. I have one living across the street. I feel emotions, physical phenomena, music, thoughts, ideas. And the pain these days is excruciating. It wasn't always this bad. I have never felt the pain physical, just emotional. It started about 6 weeks ago that I am getting physical sensations/stitches where someone else has pain or a problem "He who people call a fool is not a fool, but he who takes flattery for Truth, is." |

Anxiety and stress follow and result in me generally not being in groups of people bigger than 3-5 and I must know them very well. It is hard to see people lie, and know they are lying to you, thinking they have fooled you.. Before you guys start talking about whether they are real or not you should question whether you want this gift.. I can help people just by sensing them.. feeling their energy I know what they need. But there are people I can do nothing for, and I must bear this load knowing I can't change them. It's hard man.. |

Working on ICU since 18 years now and yes, some days its hard, especially if I am not to well myself. The hardest for me is if I don't get time on my own. I can't be constantly around people I do need time without anyone near me "He who people call a fool is not a fool, but he who takes flattery for Truth, is." |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 2291777 United States 05/28/2014 07:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes I am an empath. The way is to consider every feeling and to take the higher vibration of that emotion and radiate it out. I'm still sensitive and perceptive to others, and clairvoyance is the same thing Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26143631 but I can also.be riding the wave of love joy and positivity. however in low dense vibration places... Especially here.... Its tough. It's real. Some people. All dogs. All horses. Many refugees. Especially those who became refugees as children, although Europeans tend to shut it down hard. |
