Poor thing, what a horrible experience. She faces all kinds of reconstructive surgery and she'll probably have all sorts of emotional/mental trauma. I'm tossed up on the Pit Bull debate. I tend to agree that it's in the raising of the dog but then I've known pits that had a wonderful upbringing and still got vicious. My friend adopted a pit a few months ago, seemed like a really nice dog. The dog hated the little dog next door and the first chance she got she went for her when neighbors door was open. My friend ran over there to get her dog away from tiny dog and it didn't turn out well for her. She wound up getting nine stitches on her arm and all kinds of cuts She found out from shelter that the dog did have some abuse issues in the past, wrong time to find out about that and I think the shelter should have told her. Anyway, she's keeping the dog and I think it's a mistake. I would just be afraid as she has nieces and nephews that are still pretty young and come over to her house. ..."The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the light of day. The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny ... it is the light that guides your way." Heraclitus |

If she is keeping the dog, she needs to spend some money and take it in for professional training. The shelter should have told her the dog had issues in the past. I had a friend who rescued a Pit that was used as a bait dog. His name is Duke. He became a spokes' Pit for the breed in my area. He went through a lot, but with proper training, he became a wonderful dog. Last Edited by tiger1 on 06/07/2014 08:41 PM Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

I still have the scars on my hand. The difference being, you still have the life, that has the body, that has the arm, that has the hand, that has the scar, that shows where you were bitten. Y a poodle. If it was a pit bull that had attacked you, do you thnk circumstances would be the same? Do you think these pit bulls would have been satisfied just leaving a little scar on this girls hand. And trotting away, was no there r tails? |
