I know when I lived in michigan I planted a boatload of gorgeous african daises and the groundhogs ate them down to the ground in like an hour. I would say, good fences make good neighbors video camera (deer-cam) and if you can prove it was them, you can sue for trespass and theft |

If the quality is good enough, you could always send them printed images of them picking your flowers along with a bill. |

User ID: 59223063 United States 06/13/2014 09:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in an apartment and my neighbor doesn't pay attention to her kids. I had just planted a nice succulent garden and came home one afternoon to find two of them uprooted and a mess on the porch. The next day I went and bought several cacti with large stiff spines. One evening I heard one of the kids screaming. They haven't been touched again since. However that hasn't stopped them from just ruining the flowers. Trying to figure out what else to do. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 822338 Canada 06/13/2014 09:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in a neighborhood where apparently there are trashy/ignorant neighbor's who don't respect others property. Quoting: Vukodlak I spent about 2 months busting my ass, preparing my mom's new yard with different plants/flowers. I planted a large flush of wildflowers (dozen + variety) at the top of a 4' slope (which you would need to climb into the yard to get to). I was showing her these nice peach wildflowers that were just starting to bud today and we were talking about how tomorrow I would come by with a camera so I could try and identify them. Lo and behold I leave for 2 hours and she calls to say someone came by and just took them all out. I guess to make their own cuttings or an arrangement? Either way...how fucking rude is that? Human scum. Is there anything I can do besides a "no trespassing" sign? Anyone else have this problem and any solutions other than me 30 days in county for assault? California? Prolly old hippies. Everything is free except their stuff. |

User ID: 48838930 United States 06/13/2014 09:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | a game camera would be perfect for this job. great ones aren't cheap but this is a pretty decent one and good enough for your purposes...$60 [link to www.amazon.com] or if you have an old android device lying around and an external battery you could use something like this [link to play.google.com (secure)] game camera is probably the easiest. Hope you can catch the bastard! Post pics of culprit when you do Boil some water with jalapeno or bonnet peppers. Let it cool. Remove peppers, pour water into spray bottle. Spray onto plants. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46285418 Assuming they don't use gloves to pick the plants, they will eventually touch their eyes, and WOW! also a great idea, and doubles as a organic insect repellent fro your plants.
