I threw a can of beer at one once, was winter time and they were hungry. Beer exploded, cat ran off.

From our experiences around here, they have to be young and starving to even approach a human, but then again, they have attacked bicyclists and joggers.

The Old Guy spent an awkward afternoon walking backward down a mountain with an amused mountain lion padding along after him. Sometimes they just aren't hungry.

there was a woman in Sacramento living near the American River that had one sleeping in her garage. It's probably more common than people realize.

You always here stories...I hike a bit and have been hiking all over Northern California over the years...never seen one in person...bears on the other hand...I have seen a couple up close while camping...one ran past our car and up a hill...moved so fast it was hard to believe and the other one we chased out of a neighbors camp site...well it was a bunch of us that chased it away.

Well, as long as it's for the kids.

Of course, guns are being banned for the kids too so they better get that unbanned quick.
