Scientists have little to no understand of how the earth works

they have theories based on 'facts' in evidence.

Go back 150 or 200 years and look at most theories on any hard science - they have been disproved, corrected or refuted.

200 years from now most of what we believe to be scientific fact will have been disproved, refuted or laughed at as a simplistic answer.

Like other theories - we have no real knowledge of how these aquifers formed or how they were filled. But scientist have theories and they want to force modern humans to preserve something that they have declared precious over the needs of living humans.

They're completely surrounded by water and have capacity for advanced: solar, wind/WAVE/TIDE alternative power, to desalinate to their hearts content, along with earth having a larger ocean underneath than above.

So it depends on how tied into keeping roped into fossil fuels they are, for we live in abundance and have technologies that can do anything you can think of.

Same thing occurs in the US.

Look up the Peabody coal mining operation in the 4 Corners area - pristine Ice Age water from an aquifer that fed the springs of the Navajo and Hopi lands were drained by up to 3 million gallons of water PER DAY for many years.

They mixed this pure water equal parts with mined coal to produce a slurry that they could pump through a pipeline 273 miles away in Nevada. (The US government would not allow rail cars or something on Reservation Lands, so this was the brilliant option).

Then the water was separated from the coal and, instead of returning the contaminated water for the next batch of coal, it was dumped. Why bother recycling it when there was plenty back at the source. 3 million gallons per day of pristine and pure water, mind you.

The negotiations with the leadership of the Navajo and Hopi (many of the leadership are Morman, and are NOT those who believe in native traditions and values) to allow this travesty, were suspect to say the least.

Many of the springs that the Hopi and Dine relied upon for irrigation and watering their grazing animals, dried up or decreased dramatically in production.

Their corn, a special corn with roots able to drill deep to find water, was less productive.

Perhaps we should fix our own nation before criticizing another.
