New device allows brain to bypass spinal cord, move paralyzed limbs
For the first time ever, a paralyzed man can move his fingers and hand with his own thoughts thanks to a new device. A 23-year-old quadriplegic is the first patient to use Neurobridge, an electronic neural bypass for spinal cord injuries that reconnects the brain directly to muscles, allowing voluntary and functional control of a paralyzed limb.

Ian Burkhart, a 23-year-old quadriplegic from Dublin, Ohio, is the first patient to use Neurobridge, an electronic neural bypass for spinal cord injuries that reconnects the brain directly to muscles, allowing voluntary and functional control of a paralyzed limb. Burkhart is the first of a potential five participants in a clinical study.

"It's much like a heart bypass, but instead of bypassing blood, we're actually bypassing electrical signals," said Chad Bouton, research leader at Battelle. "We're taking those signals from the brain, going around the injury, and actually going directly to the muscles."

The Neurobridge technology combines algorithms that learn and decode the user's brain activity and a high-definition muscle stimulation sleeve that translates neural impulses from the brain and transmits new signals to the paralyzed limb. In this case, Ian's brain signals bypass his injured spinal cord and move his hand, hence the name Neurobridge.

quadruple what ever your mind can maybe fathom if you have a high iq and figure that is what they have as technology. and most people can't even do that brain exercise because they lack the intelligence of science, energy, matter and the universe.

The really sad thing is how people think this is to benefit mankind, even the patient receiving treatment thinks this is all for his good, but it isn't, this is about research and advancement, the patient would be correct to perceive himself as property of the US Army.

This kind of technology being developed under the current socio economic political paradigm is insane, and should be STOPPED IMMEDIATELY, private interests have profit ONLY at heart, and the biggest profitable action for countries is WAR, and this is why there is plenty money being spent on it, cybernetic machines to enslave and eventually destroy us.

So NO...NOT GOOD, under the current capitalistic transhumanistic paradigm, Johnny's gotta GO, mocking 'God' will not do, this results in being cast from the eternal fractal into oblivion, because they would need to alter the base forumla of the entire universe, and that aint gonna happen, so any action that disrupts the balance becomes a self sealing fate.

In short what we're doing now in terms of progress under the current socio economic political paradigm, has MASSIVE 'karmic' consequences, this is what happens when technological evolution leads spiritual evolution, we got it upside down, the children in charge are not ready for such tech yet, and they're gonna get their legs smacked

I'm a paraplegic and I can see clearly what they are doing.

They are using the disabled to justify the destruction of humanity. I have no doubt in my mind they have the means to HEAL spinal and brain injuries but that is by far not the agenda.

Soon everyone will be getiing implants, electronic and cybernetic body parts. They are just starting it off with the disabled to make it look good.

The only problem is that if we listened to shit like that^^ we'd all be still carving arrow heads, chasing critters to eat, picking berries, etc.

We, or at least some of us, will move forward. Technological and spiritual evolution can and does happen in tandem... it's a part of growth and evolution of mind. Sometimes we fuck up, and we learn... sometimes we fuck up and don't learn. Balance. I see no fucking up in allowing paralyzed people to feel and maybe walk again... and no affecting of the real balance.

Uh. And what's wrong with implants and cybernetic body parts?

I've got macular degeneration in one of my eyes and I, for one, am looking for cybernetic eye replacements in the future. I'll have one with 20/20 vision, 100x zoom and night vision in infrared/UV. If it works, I'll trade my healthy eye for a cybernetic eye, too.

Beats blindness, for sure.
