I haven't read through every page yet, so my apologies if this cure has been mentioned already.

I got a case of shingles in 2017 and was layed out flat on my back for two full weeks. I could barely shuffle to the bathroom. It's very debilitating, and can be brought on by stressful situations (like SHTF). It was like two weeks of being in literal hell.

At first I didn't know what that tiny rash was but it sure itched. I got online on day three to see what might be causing it and saw that my rash had the tell-tale zig zag pattern of shingles. By that point I couldn't even drive the 17 miles to town, so I had to see what I could order online to be delivered to my door. During the course of my research I came across a story of a doctor whose patient coincidentally was prescribed Tagamet antacid at the same time she came down with shingles. The shingles cleared up in three days.

Turns out the active ingredient in Tagamet, which is Cimetidine, somehow blocks the shingles virus. I found very few other articles about this effect, because why would big pharma want you to be cured by a $10 over the counter antacid?

Persons of any age can get shingles but it is more common among seniors. If you care about humanity, buy a box of Tagamet tablets for your bug out bag/home medical kit. Take a double loading dose the first time, then proceed with following the directions as given on the box. It could be very dangerous to have someone laid up and suffering, unable to move for an extended period of time, in a crisis situation. I have Tagamet in my medicine closet and also in my bug out bag, not for me but for the possibility of helping another person.

Why was Tagamet taken off the market?
The FDA said the medicines may contain "unacceptable" amounts of N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a substance the World Health Organization has classified as a "probable human carcinogen."

Tagamet still is readily available in drug stores and online. Your information is incorrect. Don't scare people off a simple cure because of lack of research.

FDA says:
"Federal regulators said other heartburn medications, such as famotidine (Pepcid), cimetidine (Tagamet), esomeprazole (Nexium), lansoprazole (Prevacid) and omeprazole (Prilosec) have not tested positive for signs of NDMA." (Emphasis is mine.)

Also:
"Appco Pharma has also recalled batches of ranitidine because of the potential presence of NDMA. The recalled lots have an expiration date of April or May 2021.

None of the recalled lots has been associated with any injuries or adverse events."

Taking one box of Tagamet is not going to give you cancer, and in a SHTF situation could save lives. Ask anybody who has ever had shingles if they could have hiked ten miles with a backpack, or kept midnight watch in a hideout. I couldn't even get dressed much less driven to the store...how am I going to run through the woods with my rifle? You can't even form a coherent thought when you are that debilitated. Better to have it on hand than not.
