Since I first made this post, many things have been learned and changed.

Soda/juice bottles are only good for sugar, salt and baking soda.

The beans and rice I stored in them, didn't stand up well. Vacuum sealing all works much better and lasts longer without losing flavor or color. Beans in the bottles took twice as long to cook. I have an Instant Pot that I add 10 minutes to pressure for old beans and it works well.

Those old beans still sprout!!
