Re: God VS Satan
First of all, it doesn't matter what we think, it matters what is true.

How do we know what is true? God gave us the inspired word of the bible.

Others have mentioned Job. Job happens to be my favorite book of the bible. It is also said to be the first book of the bible that was written.

In Job God asks satan, so satan what have you been up to? Satan answers, well just wandering here and there on the earth. God asks satan, have you considered my servant Job?

God felt that Job was beyond reproach but more importantly it seems to me that God and satan are working together. God gives parameters to satan and satan acts according to those parameters.

It does not seem as though God and satan are on opposites sides in this book, it seems more like the good cop bad cop scenario.

Lastly, satan has control of this earth right now. God gave it to him. Anything you find wrong in this world at this time can be directly referred to satan. That's why satan said he would give Jesus the whole world if He would just bow down and worship him.
 Quoting: A Friend

It says satan was walking here and there on the earth implying that he was MINDING HIS OWN BUSINESS. The bible talks about all the bad thoughts that HAUNT satan (because of his wisdom and beauty and the threats god made against him) but it doesn't say anywhere that satans actions are evil.

All true, but this control is only temporary. Just like Satan being dark, cannot exist in the presence of light.

It's all about humans being the pawns, the battlefield.

God has a global sin meter. That critical level has yet to be breached, and Satan's role is to help breach that level.

Once that level is breached, humans cannot excuse themselves anymore, and God will act.

That is still years from now. If you think things are bad now, wait a little more, and it will get worse.

Humans are going from bad to worse.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48087822

Revelation tells us how bad it's going to get and unfortunately it is going to get really bad. Those who stand with Jesus are making it straight through to heaven which is our only saving grace.

We are not getting what we deserve but we are getting the mercy of God.

It only gets as bad as you let it get. That is what you call a "self-fulfilling prophesy". If you want to push that propaganda, maybe you are the evil one. If you want to change your ways and see some of the much good that is happening around the world, see www.goodnewsnetwork.org

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

This passage is rather misinterpreted, or rather un-interpreted.

To "Be like the Most High" is not necessarily evil. To be "like God" is a GOOD thing, actually. So why is Lucifer wrong to be "like God"? Because he is "contesting" with Jacob, when there should be no "striving".

If you read closer you see Lucifer trying to STEAL/USURP not God's place...but someone who is "like God" or "Godly".

Now, read the first sentence of Isaiah 14:

[1] For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

I didn't say he was evil. I was pointing out the reason for his fall. He wanted to be above God. He thinks the created can be above the creator. This is obviously arrogant and false beyond reason. Satan is deluded. He is egotistical beyond reason. He is trying to get as many souls on his side as possible so that he won't be thrown into the fiery pits.
But Lord, he stinketh!

Sure, there is duality in the world. This is called Newton's third law of motion. However freewill and choice is because of the snake in the garden of eden, not god. Hence satan is the one responsible for your freedom. From what I've learned about knowing satan personally, he despises evil and debauchery. Please read the whole thread before you comment next time. Thanks.

From what I have learned, satan is actually the god of everything except eden, (stars shoot out of his eyes) and the reason he doesn't want to be acknowledged is because he is sick of being assassinated by bible freaks. He also claims that he is actually eve, (thats why they say satan is both sexes) has found adam (as he usually does) and he claims that all the genetics of the universe were trapped in the tree knowledge. He also seems to believe that he doesn't go to hell, he actually lives quite a comfortable life on earth, apart from feeling everyone else's pain and the daily ups and downs.

He also says that bible refers to satan wanting to become high like god is because satan wishes to know everyone personally and to answer their prayers. Considering a lot of people have evil and irrational intentions and fantasies, this is the real reason why satan suffers on earth. He also says he has no desire for fantasy and heaven/eden and only wants to live on earth. He feels sad that people are so selfish and short-sighted and passive.

Re: God VS Satan
But how can God get this point across to people who are born into the world with no knowledge or understanding? He could have preprogrammed us to behave only according to harmless predetermined instincts. But then we would be mere automatons, having no choices, no individuality, no character.

Such existence is not what God intends for us. He has created us to become members of His own family—His sons and daughters (2 Corinthians:6:18)—able to bear great responsibilities within His family.

At the beginning of human existence God stated His purpose for us: "Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.' So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them" (Genesis:1:26-27

).

God created mankind to be like Him, to rule—have dominion—over His creation. To learn to properly exercise such a level of responsibility, man must first learn how to discern right from wrong, good from bad, and the wise from the foolish. Learning real wisdom involves learning how to make wise choices. From the beginning God pointed out the right way, but He allowed human beings to be exposed to and make foolish choices.

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Satan's sin was pride and rebellion against God. Satan wanted to put himself in the place of God as he said, "I will be like the most High".

That's about King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, not satan.

It says satan was walking here and there on the earth implying that he was MINDING HIS OWN BUSINESS. The bible talks about all the bad thoughts that HAUNT satan (because of his wisdom and beauty and the threats god made against him) but it doesn't say anywhere that satans actions are evil.

That passage was talking about the King of Babylon during that time.
